My time was wasted today. I could not renew vehicle registration online. I called ahead of time to make sure I could renew my vehicle's tag in-person and to bring the correct documents. The staff on the phone knew I was changing my address to a different county in TN. When I arrived and after waiting in line, I was told I could no renew and need to go to my current county's clerks office. Please be consistent with what is communicated in person and over the phone.

Been here several times & rarely seen all 11 stations open. Once again today they had a massive total of 4 stations open during lunch time. How pathetic!! The majority of us have to get back at work to pay taxes to get treated like this.

These folks are the best!!!!! We are in New York and needed registration and they sent it VERY quickly!! Yes the on hold time took a few but, just like EVERY business in America, they too are short staffed! Again, Thanks for your prompt service

I just waited on hold in silence for 45 minutes to ask a question, and no one ever came to the phone. Very disappointing, as I need information about marriage licenses coming from another state. I will just work with a different county.

Been calling for a month solid. No one answers ... EVER. You stay on hold for 10 minutes and then they disconnect you.
exactly same problem
I went last week on Tuesday around 11:30 and waited for an hour....my husband went a few week ago and waited 10 minutes....I think it depends on what day and what time of day you go...totally hit or miss....I would avoid lunch time if you can because I noticed that 3 of the 6 people working left for their lunch break while I was inside the office in line....just know if you drive up and the line is outside the building you're looking at at least an hour wait. Hope that helps!
That's nothing (not to belittle your situation Greg), when I was in line to get my renewal stickers with about 50 others, it took us about 2½ hours. You're right Greg. It needs improvement. We also need to be aware of the inherent issues of staffing during the'pandemic'.
I had to wait in line to get the county sticker because I was coming in from Bradley county. It was last week for 2.5 hours. If you get there by 8 ( which I didn't) the line should be much shorter, according to the volunteer. Don't bother with the phone. You'll not get them. Took me 3 weeks to figure that out 😉
Cammie was excellent. I got in and out.
You will likely be asked to prove residency with a utility bill and or tax record. Every county is priced differently. Maybe use your birth certificate to get a state ID where you live before you go in? GL
They are closed the day after thanksgiving . All government buildings are. It's a paid holiday for them
No closed
You would have to go in because your coming from a new county or mail in 25.75 asking for a Williamson county sticker and give us the new address we'll mail it back
You should have some paperwork from the dealership on that. You need to get an emissions test before going to the clerk's office.
You can renew online but I think you have to go to their office for new registrations. But, I was there last week and they move quickly and the lines are Covid conscious.
Call your insurance agent. There are rules about continuous coverage etc., they can tell you what they require.
30-40 minutes
If new means tags (stickers) only then Yes! Below has a kiosk, friendly staff and it is very fast. See my review at Franklin Recreation Complex. If you need new license plates then you must go to the County Clerk. 1120 Hillsboro Rd, Franklin, TN 37064 (615) 790-5719 https://maps.app.goo.gl/foZY58FtdRuPPhsJ8
Usually when you buy a specialty plate, it is supposed to be like a regular license plate. In order to get a renewal you need to get down there by 6:30am on Monday to get a number for when to come back. There only open 3 days a week. Mon. ,Tues and Thurs.
Here are some updates on their website on how to get a number when you just show up. https://www.williamsoncounty-tn.gov/161/County-Clerk
Please visit post office
Come in sign a no driving form as long as you havent had any tickets we can move your month
You'll probably have to go over to the administrative complex on west main and ask them
Normally it's only good for 30 days If I remember correctly.
The county clerk only does business licenses marriage licenses and car tags u have to go to the williamson county animal control
Library
go back to the inspection place and get a copy
I don't think so
Not that I know of.
Vehicle needs to be tested. May need proof of resident. There might be something on website
If you have documentation of it being broken and recently fixed you shouldn't have to
State of tn tags.. If college not listed you have to pettion you get one
I would call
You can go to emissions testing centers in any county.
No
Should recieve a new one with new tags
I think that has to be done at the court house unless you are getting married
Yes. Every year
Not sure about over the phone but you can pay online
It might be the county clerk. Not sure of the name.
We bought a car in Franklin from a dealership a year and a half ago. They never sent the tag. I stopped by one day and asked there. They hadn't sent it. It was in someone's office in a mailer addressed to us. Postmarked about a week after we bought it.
Better call and found out. Better to be safe than sorry
Take the test. Which requires an appointment. You will need a birth certificate proof of address.
Yes tn lic before tags. You should be able to do it the same day. No price differences on auto. Unless it is commercial. Standard price for all passenger vehicles. I believe it is around $52.
There is just a title line at the clerks office. They will take care of it there. Dont go to the registration lines.
You can't. But we use the kiosk in our city about 10 minutes away from the testing site. Its been ready every time.
Yes
