Love this gun range. Took my son there for his hunter safety class. He really enjoyed it

It was an Amazing at the Rose Lake Wilderness Shooting Range. Great Weather, very few people, very idealic if I may say so! They also have a beautiful Hal & Jean Glasseman Classroom & Restroom area to relax as well! Highly recommended this facility- Enjoy!

I’ve been going birding here a fair amount lately. Even in winter, it’s a really great place to walk trails. Not a ton of terrain but the scenery is nice. Looking forward to spring as it looks like there’s plenty of wildflowers that should start coming up too.

Yes great trout and Pike
Pretty much entirely open for hiking and hunting both, unless there's a sign saying otherwise in an area
Yes, but remember this is a wildlife research area. Do not interfere with ongoing activity in the woods. Report any issues to dnr. Make sure to dress for ticks and high visibility (hunting season). Very little to be found on the trails.
No
You can shoot a round every 3 seconds.
I don't know. I didn't see anyone with a bike. You can bike on the dirt roads. However, the trails we took were pretty narrow, ran through the wilderness. They were only walking trails
The roads are considered trails.

Rose Lake Recreation area covers hundreds of acres. There about 20+ parking areas so it's no problem. Everything in your visit to the area depends on your goal. I've been going there since 1975. If you want birds go in off of Peacock Road,, there is a big lot across from the gun range--noisy but... You can also park off of Woodbury Rd. just north of I-69. Dry area until you move north. If you go to the lot off Clark Rd. just east of Upton there is working farm managed by the DNR.
I see horse tracks on trails occasionally but do not know if ok. Alligan stste land has a wonderful horse camp ground with lots of trail miles, sessions lake state land Ionia has smaller area and Waterloo recreation area at crooked lake does allso i believe
Yes
No
You could if you don't mind not having any facilities. I've seen spots that people have had camp fires.
