colleen cade
They are busy and understaffed. I needed help with a stray cat wondering around probably abandoned here at this apt complex. It's very pitiful and I can't get help here.. and this heat will kill these strays. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to feed them nomore I was violated they said. The office left me a message accusing the cat of being mine and I told her my cat wouldn't be outside. Why they thought it was mine I have no idea. But no help here . HS said call animal control who doesn't answer and no matter what number you press the recording keeps going and you don't get anyone so this cat is out here meowing and hungry. Still no help. Hoping animal control calls me tomorrow. My heart is breaking for this poor little cat.

I took a male and female kitty in for the free vaccine day, and filled out information on them to start health records. A few days later, I got a txt offering me spay and neuter appts (a few months out) for $10 each. We arrived half and hour early before they opened and were given the shots almost 3 hours later, so 45 minutes early would have been about purrfect. They had boxes of toys, harnesses, even costumes, that were donated and told us to help ourselves. They also gave me information on getting free dry cat food three times a year.

It looks like they do a really good job taking care of the pets here, but of course it's so sad to see all the animals locked up. I encourage everyone with a compassionate heart to visit their local shelter to adopt a pet as there are many wonderful cats dogs and other animals available that need a loving home. This shelter has friendly and beautiful dogs and gorgeous cats and the only thing that they were missing is a loving home. I personally am going back on tomorrow to adopt my new rottweiler, he is a senior dog, has lots of health issues that they were up front and honest about, and his old age will be spent being spoiled rotten. He will receive the best vet care, and his final days will be filled with love and happiness.

Yes they encourage it. People can even volunteer to walk and play with them.
They ask for donation if you can. They also have you sign if you want to know if or what happens to the animal.
I took about a dozen pillows after I wash them all and they were glad to take them. Dog pillows that is. ( dog beds)
Hi, Soleil. Thank you so much for asking. We are currently in need of dry cat food, any brand, for our community pet food bank. We can also always use towels and toys for our pets. Donations can be dropped off anytime during our open business hours. Masks and social distancing are required. Thank you!
Yes they do. We just got our new dog from there and she was a re-home. We love her very much. We are sorry to who ever had to give her up but we love her.
Hi Angela. You do not need an appointment to see the animals. We are requiring everyone to wear a mask and social distance. Thank you for your interest in CAHS!
There is a surrender fee. You need to call CAHS to schedule a surrender appointment. There is usually a wait list, especially for adult cats.
I take my cat for a walk with out leash around my house and bring him home
It looks like your question has been answered they are good people to work with
Yes, you may donate on our website, www.AdoptLansing.org. You will receive an emailed receipt for your taxes. Thank you so much for thinking of CAHS!
https://cahs-lansing.org/support/donate-items/ This is a list of their most needed items. If what you want to donate isn't on the list, it is likely that they will still accept it a d they'll pass it on to foster homes and other shelters. They've accepted used cat toys and off brand food from me. I think the food should be unopened if possible, but you can call during operating hours to ask about something specific.
Hi Billy. CAHS averages a live-release rate of 96.5%. We do not euthanize healthy, treatable pets, or place time limits on our pets. The only reason a pet may be euthanized is if the pet was extremely aggressive or had an untreatable illness, such as cancer or leukemia.
Yes
They provide many animal services, just call and ask.
I believe they do accept wish list items for the pets, money donations, and volunteers. When I was there last week it was a first come basis because of strict capacity rules
Aww, that's terrible. Call capita area humane society, leave a msg with your information and they will call you back.
I would make arrangements to drop him off later. Spend time with him and say goodbye only one time. That is simply my opinion. Hopefully, all will be well.
Yes! Call them to order copies.
Yes, I believe so. You can always call to confirm. The staff is great and will answer your questions. Many animals are listed as "surrendered by owner".
I would call Annabelles training, and daycare.
Hi Diane, Did you find a litter of feral kittens? Are they abandoned or is their mother around? If you found them and aren't planning to keep them, you can take them to your local Humane Society. You can call ahead with questions you may have. Does this help?
I would have to agree the can always use blankets for a lot of different things
It looks like the owner has already answered your question it's nice of you to become a volunteer
Yes yes they are always looking for new owners for the dogs that they have
Yes they will take them they've never refused anything I've taken over there
Sometimes they have specials and the cost is just the rabies shots, but that's just once or twice a year.
A couple weeks ago, they were overcrowded and offering them for a low fee. I'm not sure if they are still running the special on dogs and cats. I'd call them to find out.
Hi Vicki. CAHS was closed on Saturday, due to our Walk for the Animals event. We are also closed on Sundays to give our pets a day of rest.
Hi Dylan. We will be hosting our annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 1, which will include adoption specials.
Hi Amber. CAHS does not provide vaccinations for the public. However, Ingham County Animal Control has a vaccine clinic each month. Banfield, TSC, and Soldan's also have vaccine clinics periodically.
I think you should drop the cat there. And you always can give them a call as well.
Both
It's a National Database all the chips come from
Agreed on all answered. In addition, seniors get a $50 credit which makes the cats free. We got 2 here and they are the best.
Volunteers attend a short group introductory class and tour. Cost is $20. You will receive a shirt and be able to come in whenever you want and spend time doing whatever you choose to do.
No but they do ask for a donation to help run the places
Hi Jada. We do have ferrets available for adoption periodically; however, we currently do not have any ferrets. Thank you so much for your interest in a shelter pet.
Yes they Will find a good home and thank you for taking care of the cat God bless you
Pups under 5 months are $275, 5 Months or older $175, 7yrs or older are $125
Ok...
The shelter is open Monday-Friday 12-7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Adding to the other two comments, if I had to give away a beloved animal, I wouldn't trust anywhere else to take it. Your babies will be in a new loving home very quickly.
