I have had very positive experience with PT in the past at this facility. I called today, hoping to return, and was seriously disappointed to learn that they no longer accept Medicare. It's now $300 per session to meet with a PT there!

I went to Central Park Physical Therapy based on their solid reputation. What I got was excellent care and relief. Dr. Misiura helped me to lay a foundation for better physical health. My back pain was really impacting my life, now I feel like myself again. Highly recommended.

Questions & Answers

Why should I choose physical therapy?

Physical therapy is a non-invasive drug-free approach to improving your quality of life. Doctors of Physical Therapy are movement experts who study the complex anatomy of the human body and understand how dysfunction in one area may cause strain and pain somewhere else. We can teach you how to live without pain, improve your motion, feel more energized, and avoid unnecessary surgeries. Our clinic in New York prides itself on providing a positive yet relaxing, encouraging environment with well-trained, friendly staff. We are confident in our ability to help you reach your goals and live a pain-free life.

How can I prepare for my first physical therapy session?

Be prepared to talk about how your condition has affected you, for how long, and when you notice symptoms at their best and worst. Try to take note of any patterns that may have been occurring with your symptoms (eg: pain in AM not PM, only hurts when wearing certain shoes.) Expect to receive treatment on your first day and walk out feeling better than when you entered! Please wear comfortable clothing that allows access to your problem areas. Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork, so you can maximize your time in your evaluation or print & fill out patient forms: https://centralparkphysicaltherapy.com/patient-information/patient-info-forms/ and bring them with you.

What can I expect from my Physical Therapy treatments?

Central Park Physical Therapy | Sep 29, 2021

With physical therapy, it’s important to know that the overall goal is to restore pain-free mobility and function and to prevent the injury or pain from recurring. Our physical therapists evaluate your movement patterns, identify the source of your pain, and work to eliminate it. Expect each session to last about 45-90 minutes- but may vary based on your schedule and needs. At CPPT we don't use protocols, which means every patient has their own plan specific to their body and their conditions, and is as efficient and effective as possible. While every patient’s condition and pain are unique, our physical therapist will use a variety of gentle hands-on techniques, education, exercises, and equipment to relieve pain quickly and restore your function to optimum levels.

When can I expect to notice relief?

Immediately! You can expect to benefit from every single session, and you will even be taught how to 'fix yourself' the days you are not visiting us. Your plan of care and number of visits will be determined during your first visit and explained to you. Every treatment plan is made specific to each patient and you will be constantly reassessed to ensure persistent progress!

How should I dress to my PT appointments?

Dress comfortably in clothes that allow easy access for the therapist to examine your problem areas. For example bring shorts and T-shirt, halter or sports bra; you may arrive wearing anything you'd like and change once you arrive. We also have clean T-shirts and gym shorts available to borrow if you don't bring your own. For treatments, loose-fitting clothes that are comfortable for gentle exercises and that don’t restrict movement, be prepared to remove shoes/footwear.

Do I need a physician’s referral/prescription to attend physical therapy?

Central Park Physical Therapy | Sep 29, 2021

No! In New York (and most states) Physical Therapists are considered primary care providers and you may recieve our physical therapy services directly without seeing a physician. Most insurances allows direct access patients to be seen for the initial evaluation and then to be treated for combined total of 30 days without a prescription from a physician. At the end of the 30 day period, if further physical therapy services are necessary, a prescription from a physician/physician extender may be required. Give us a call and we will verify your benefits for you!
