I came here after a skin graft - mostly for wound checks. Staff only checked the donor site, missing the infection and wound separation that developed at the other surgical site. I’m vegan and didn’t receive a single meal that I could fully eat until right before my discharge. PTs were nice though. If you have the option, avoid this place. I hope there are some repercussions for this terrible mistreatment. I’ve also heard of patients having their belongings stolen by staff. I personally wasn’t given my leftover medications (that I either brought myself or were charged to my insurance) at discharge. That is unacceptable. They also don’t screen visitors for COVID properly. They do not wait for the tests to actually develop and instead just fake a swab and wait for the control line to show. Edit: after my discharge, my prescriptions were sent to a pharmacy that doesn’t have the ability to fill them (this is not my preferred pharmacy). I already have an infection, and due to negligence, I will not have antibiotics.

Their COVID screening is a joke. They waited only 2 minutes for the result, not 15. My son’s treatment there was horrible. They botched his vegan meal request every single time. They only changed the dressing on one of his surgical wounds. He was left to his own devices to change the other one. And his discharge took 3 hours for no good reason other than laziness, sloppiness, disorganization, and general incompetence. No hospital should use this facility for step-down, but especially not Mount Sinai. To go from the best standard of care to the worst is a travesty.

My brother stayed here after surgery and ended up with a mild infection because none of the nurses actually checked the wound during dressing changes. In addition, the facility was unable to provide food that complied with his dietary restrictions and they also don't provide transportation to doctors appointments.

I was looking forward to having my father admitted to the VillageCare Rehabilitation facility. It's disgusting to steal from a disabled patient. You are there to protect and keep patients safe. You have in your employment social worker Samana Seradieu who risks a patient's safety. Then another employee who sent the patient to an emergency room hospital, to losing a bed and having your personnel steal her belongings. This is horrible.
