These guys are thieves. My car developed a noise on my way to VA from Massachusetts. I take my car there and they tell me I need both front struts replaced. A total of $1200! I was returning to Massachusetts the next day, and didn’t have time for a second opinion, but you can’t imagine my anger when the noise returned five hours into my trip, and I still had another 5-6 hours to go. I take my car to my regular mechanic and it turned out the noise is due to a CV joint that needs to be replaced. They took advantage of me because I needed work done, and because I live 600 miles away, they knew there is little chance I’ll come back for a claim. If you’re reading this, avoid this place like the plague if you need repairs. It’s ok for gas.

DO NOT let this place work on your property! Period. As an engineer I expect certain standards and this place falls very far below anything you would call quality. Low quality work, zero customer service skills and astronomical prices. Took 10 days to press bearings onto two axles. A day long job in which I supplied the correct parts quoted at $400 ended up costing over $1200. They increased the work scope by replacing other parts and charged nearly triple the retail value for said parts. When I inspected their work, both axles were incorrectly assembled and the bearings would be ruined if I had not measured everything before and after I gave it to them. They also took the new hardware from a job I had done and used it as their own on the opposite side. So I was overcharged by nearly 300% and it wasn't even done correctly. Please, do yourself a huge favor and find a more reputable shop. You will regret giving this shop business.

Caring owners. They go out of their way to help customers. I go here for my state inspections, and they are timely and do a good job. I have also had tires patched and my car checked for problems by the mechanics before a big trip. I get gas here often as well and use their discount card.

Been going there for years. Never again! I've brought my cars to the Jamestown Shell station for a decade now. The service has always been fair. Not great, but ok. The mechanics seemed like decent guys with good knowledge. But my latest experience will result in me never going again. My sons brought their car in for a state inspection. A day went by and nothing. No calls or anything. I finally get ahold of them and they say the car is ready for pickup. My sons paid $20 and left. It was only when they got home that they noticed the rejection sticker. A day later, I decided to accompany them to the station. The owner told me that he had called me 3 times and that he spoke to me and "I" told him I had sold that car years ago. So they failed the car. I told him that he clearly didn't talk to me and must've dialed the wrong number. He proceeded to argue with me and tell me he called me. It was like talking to a wall. A rude wall. He said I needed to get 2 wiper blades and the license plate bulb replaced. "$40 or $50" he said. My sons picked up the car 2 hours later, and got a bill for $92. They tried to charge him a second time for inspection. That was an easy fix. But $20 for EACH WIPER BLADE? And $25 to install them?? I've put up with the rude and unprofessional owner for years. But I've reached my boiling point and will never give this station my business again. The owner clearly does not value his customers (check the many reviews here), and is now employing a "bait and switch" method. Never again.
