Amanda was amazing and knowledgeable about natural hair, I felt at ease as soon as I met her and was very satisfied with my wash n go hairstyle. I wanted a color service today, but was wisely advised against it as my hair was in an unhealthy state, and I really appreciated how Amanda and the staff genuinely care about their clients.

I love the place. It’s bright. It’s clean. The stylists are friendly and efficient. Awa gets me in and out and I love how my hair looks and feels. And she paid attention when I first came that I had a bald spot in the back of my head. She told me go immediately to a dermatologist and that saved me from further hair loss. I regained the hair! (This is posting under my son’s name. But I am his mom. I go to the salon.)

I've only been to this salon once, had an amazing experience. I plan to go back for all of my hair care needs! I had a braid take down (knotless braids) wash, deep condition, and two strand twist done with my hair. Awa is a hair genius and slayed these twists!

It's a NATURAL hair salon which means no you can't get a texturizer there. They do have a protein system that is temporary loosens your curl pattern for 3 months so you can achieve straight hair styles and it cost 100 dollars. Also if you do the system, dye and cutting off your dead ends you will be there for awhile depending on your hair length. You should book an early appt and be patient.
Yes, we style locs.
They could but I let my regular stylist who flatirons my hair do my trim 3-4 times a year. They do all kinds of natural hair styles. You should call them and ask further questions. I am sure whatever you get done, you will be pleased.
It is done there Ask for consultation with AWA
Tia does
Remember that it's tough to dye black hair blonde. First the darker color has to be bleached out and the blonde applied over it. This can cause your hair to suffer dryness and damage. (THIS is what I've read and seen among ppl I know, I am NOT a beautician). Many people consider a blonde synthetic style to try out those colors which does does not damage your hair and can be changed up frequently without too much of a long term commitment. This is a fun alternative! I'm sure the salon will do a consult on your hair and desired style & color. Good luck!
Hi Marsha, If you colored your hair just 2 weeks ago with the henna, it it likely too early to get the effect of silver hair. You can come in for a consultation and one of our expert colorists can personally examine your hair and do a patch test to see if your hair color will lift.
Yes. Call and ask for Paula. She's a very knowledgeable owner and time permitting can answer your specific questions.
Hi Bree, We absolutely do knotless box braids. Our price list on the website is not all inclusive. You can call us for more information. Paula Owner, Harlem Natural Hair Salon
They are awesome so yes you need to go in and speak to someone.
Yes they are Black owned and operated.
I went but didn't get a style. Maybe you can get curly style. Look it up on pinterest
Well as a celebrity hairdresser and makeup artist this is just the most exciting place for natural hair.. I don't know the prices but do place a call to them
I've witnessed trims being done on dry blown out hair.
Hi Samara, give the salon a call and arrange for a consultation. Consultations are free.
I have never experienced that problem at Harlem hair, they show you a color chart with all types of colors that would match close to your preference. Or you can purchase your own color from the beauty supply store and bring it with you, but keep in mind it's your vision of what you would like. They will be blunt and honest with you about your color of choice. Good Luck.
Trims can be done on all hair textures. The starting price is $45 on its own.
Hi Alex, Thank you for your inquiry. We certainly do human hair extensions on locs but we need to see your hair in person to give you an accurate quote. Please give us a call and we can schedule an in person consultation. Thank you! Paula Harlem Natural Hair Salon
Hi Ceta, we do big chop hair cuts and we can certainly offer suggestions for products that will work well for your hair. Give us a call to schedule a consultation. Harlem Natural Hair
Yes I had to get my hair untrusted cost $20 each half an hour I paid 40 plus hair washed and styled.
Of course it can! Check their website.
Hi Donna, Our haircuts start at $60. The price can go up or down from there. Give us a call to discuss your specific hair and desired cut and we can give you a definite price. Paula Harlem Natural Hair Salon 212-694-6593
You will have to call them for that information.
The range is from $150-$300 depending on length and style (crochet versus individual faux loc braids). Hair is not included in the price but all services include a consultation, wash and conditioner. Additional services like a deep conditioner, trim and etc would cost extra. Call the salon for more details and specifics on pricing. Again, everything depends on the style and services you want.
English please
