Best bet is to not drive at all. Take Metra train to Ogilvie transportation center and then walk about 1.5 block across the river to the Opera House.

I have seen the Lyric ushers assist in removing walkers prior to the performance and returning them for use at intermission and at the conclusion of the performance. Be sure to call Audience Services before your performance to ensure you have an accessible seat.

There are some nearby lots with rates for the opera and there is valet at the Civic Opera House for Lyric events.

The opera house is located one block west of the Washington / Wells El train stop served by the brown, pink, orange, and purple lines.

There is valet parking available on show nights. There are also self parking garages and lot within a 10 minute walk.

I think it depends on the show, but its probably best to go formal or semi formal

The runtime for Turandot is 2 hours & 30 minutes. With a 2:00 start, you would need to leave before the end to catch the 4:30 train.
