Friendly staff, windy and noisy at night from coastal breeze, not the most availability of spots.

Super clean, well maintained, vault toilets, running water available, picnic tables, barbeques and fire pits at many if not every space. Lots of trails. We were in space 17 which was directly across from the camp host, 2 vault toilets and head a trail literally right next to it. Beware though as there is poison oak everywhere. As long as you know what it looks like you'll be able to steer clear.

The Campsite was nice! The hiking trail was fun! Although, I really wish the bathrooms were better quality (perhaps adding in sinks and showers) and not like a porter potty. The rood leading into the Campsite is really narrow and so you must be careful!!! It did get pretty cold and extremely dark so be sure to bring a jacket and flashlights and lanterns!

I loved cerro alto campground. Really close to Morro Bay which makes for a quick and fun trip. Also helps cool you down if it’s a hot weekend in the mountain. I stayed in 19 which actually shares a lot with 18 and makes for a good group site. Away and private but close enough to the bathrooms and right next to the trail. There is a lot of poison oak and we did site a bob cat (was told by rangers they weren’t dangerous to human adults). The hike is a lot more strenuous than described, so go earlier in the day to avoid the heat and take enough water. You can’t hang hammocks unless you have flat straps. The camp host Justin was a little rude when we arrived and not really helpful until we started asking more questions. Apart from that the site was really clean including the bathrooms.

Is this a year round RV park?

It's more of a camp ground than rv Park. Don't quote me on this but I do not believe they have hook ups or dump facilities here. Most of the spaces are small. With limited parking.

Are there showers onsite?

No and the toilet is the pit kind. No sinks just water faucets.
