Not my favorite museum I've ever been to. There were some pretty cool artifacts and the exhibit was quite big. But it just felt like it was more of a place for a school field trip than two adults with no kids.

Very educational! Nicely put together exhibits and short films throughout. A bit disappointing that the gallery on the first floor was closed until next year(Feb 2023). Lovely giftshop and place to eat on site.

An excellent museum. Beautiful scenery, a simple and efficient way to Travel through the American Revolution. Staff is passionnate, extremely nice and joyful ! They'll take you with them on this beautiful journey, full of discussion and modern displays. Battle reconstitutions, uniforms, artefacts, everything to let you wonder about History !

I came here sometime ago with a friend my daughter and my granddaughter. It was during the Hamilton exhibit and my granddaughter loved dressing up in colonial clothing and carrying her little Hamilton doll around town with her. I think it truly helped her feel that history was real and inspired her

There is parking 1 block away with elevators
Yes, there is a Veterans discount. However, it is not by much
Jefferson Station, then you would have to walk about a mile or hop on the Market Frankford Line from Jefferson to the 2nd St stop, a block north of the museum.
If you are a history junkie and read all the displays, take your time looking at the artifacts and attend a showing of a presentation on the war, l woud say minum 2 hrs. The weekends 3 to 4 hrs with the crowds.
It is definitely handicap accessible, but not sure the provide wheelchairs
Yes it is in a tourist area and a cafe is inside the building. Plenty of food option in the area.
Yes
It would depend on where you are coming from. It is 3 blocks from Independence Hall. If you are coming from outside the city it would be 30th Street Station and then either to Market East or the Reading Terminal and walk from there.
Septa Regional Rail is Jefferson Station ...about 8 blocks west. Market-Frankford Subway is within 2 blocks at either 2nd or 3rd Street.
Check website for sure...bit believe it is
Yes. Online is cheaper though. It's amazing. Worth every penny.
I think they are transferable. I went a month ago and the ticket was valid through two days, they are very nice people and will help you with your visit when you can go.
I didn't see a lot either. I'd recommend contacting the museum to see how they handle event parking.
Probably not
If you want to really see everything, including the shows and movies, it's about 3-4 hours
I used SpotHero to reserve a local spot online. It was a short walk and worked well.
No need to buy in advance. Parking is about one block away. I would plan on 3-4 hours for a visit.
About a block away north on 3rd
Probably
It's well designed for kids. The last time I was there, the volunteer working the ship exhibit was great at answering and explaining questions from kids
The website says it's not affected by the shutdown. www.amrevmuseum.org
Kevin Costner I think. Not confirmed.
Colonies
I dont know. Perhaps check the website. The gift shop is located on main floor
My son used his Access card today. Absolutely no problem.
Yes.
Parking is a bit challenging but there are parking garages if you can find them...short 1-2 block walk to museum. Surrounding streets are one way. Gps or paper map are indespensible
Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge at the Reception Desk for use within the Museum on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Yes they are open.
You can reach us at 215.253.6731 during our hours of operation, 7 days a week.
You can take as long as you want. 2 to 4 hours usually.
10 - 5. ... Last showing of Washingtons tent goes about 4:40 lasts 12 minutes.
I recommend public transportation. No parking hassles and you can read or snooze on the bus or train.
My family was just there this past weekend. Museum closes at 5pm. Prices were around 12$kids, 19$adults I think, but see website for exact $ prices! Have fun!
For groups yes. Otherwise the self guided tour is easy. It's a small museum.
My company and I have stayed at the holidayinn historic. If you want to be close.
Intenet
The fire is across the street from the museum. The museum did not suffer any damage. Probably only a delay till all the fire equipment is gone from the scene.
Tons of open lots all over Philly, just search 'parking lots' in your gps and about a hundred little icons pop up.
About 45 min walk. Or, take the Market Frankford line 6 stops from 30th Street to 2nd Street and walk a couple blocks. This is about 15 min total. If you're driving, it's 10 min plus time to find parking.
Yes
