What an interesting, beautiful state park. The main Aden/Hopewell mound is one-of-a-kind. You can feel the 2000 year old presence of these amazingly intelligent, creative and industrious people. We should have paid more attention to them. The trails are wonderfully maintained and very beautiful: Indiana forest at its very best.

This park has good amenities for young children, including a nature center, easy trails close to parking, and a playground. Their playground could use some updates but my 2.5 year old was still able to play and have a great time. The …

A lot of people come to the canoe launch and catch Small mouths, rock bass, and Blue gills! And the water is pretty low and clear, so that makes for better fishing today
Take the asphalt road all the way to the back of the park. Its right beside the group camp area.
Both cash or credit/debit card are accepted. If you plan to visit many Indiana State Parks, we suggest an annual pass: https://stores.innsgifts.com/permits/
Should be open
Yes, they have a campgrounds. There isn't much shade, but if you call the office they can help you pick the shadiest spots. Reserve your campsite early (up to 6 months in advance) as all the best spots fill up quickly.
They prefer that you burn your own wood, of course.
Yes. There's an area for campers and trailers.

No. We were just there 2 weeks ago and floated 3 hours on tubes and seen no algae
Maybe you have a slow internet connection. Satellite view uses a lot more bandwidth.
Yes
I am pretty sure they are, just not on the trails.
No fee for admittance when I was there 2day.
It is usually 7$ However, you can also get a year pass if you want to go there often, but I am not sure how much that costs. But during the winter months, including early spring, you can get in free.
160 per day
You'll have to contact the nature center to get prices. They will have all prices available for you.
My wife and I go to Mounds about every day and camping is open until early December and the Park itself is open year round. No entry fee during the week and after the end of October until the beginning of April there is no gate fees.
Weekends you need reservations, during week not so much. We checked this weekend at Mounds and Summit Lake, they were full. You can check availability on internet. Both great campgrounds. Enjoy your weekend camping. Check out the"Nomads" umc mission volunteers
It's best to walk, a lot of the trails are gravel at the beginning, but begin to change into dirt after you enter the wooded areas
Hi Han. You can take the fish and eat them. If you got them out of the White River, we recommend you check the Indiana Fish Consumption Advisory for how often you can eat each fish species from that particular area. See their website at https://www.in.gov/isdh/26778.htm.
Hi Janelle. You will still have to pay park entrance fees. Fees are $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle. Thank you for your inquiry.
