Sugar Creek in Crawfordsville, IN has a huge amount of fossils. Mostly crinoids
No. In the area drive to Hueston Woods in Ohio
I dont believe so we didnt see any
The river is not a bad place to find interesting rocks and some fossils, but it is much more common to find things like arrow heads, pottery shards, and more recent artifacts (especially in places like near the old ice house.) However as another user suggested, Ohio is teeming with fossils! Hueston Woods is a great place to camp for fossils, but for a fun day trip I like the Metroparks system in Montgomery County Ohio. It's only about 2 hours from Mounds; if you go be sure to check out the dam outside Germantown, OH. Been visiting since I was a child and have found some seriously impressive fossils there!
I assume it must be a good site. The central mound is 2000 years old.
