We were staying down on Hatteras Island and decided to take a little trip up north and check out Roanoke Island and some of the attractions that they offered up there. They ended up eating and checking out the aquarium. This place isn't the biggest aquarium that you'll go to but we thought it had a lot of really great things to see. I think the sea turtle rehabilitation exhibit would be amazing to see but unfortunately it was under reconstruction when we were there. I think that would probably one of the biggest attractions. I would recommend checking this place out if you get a chance. The cost to get in is very low compared to a lot of major aquarium attractions like this and they have a lot of really nice things to see.

Great place for family visit. Location is terrific. Not a big aquarium but they have a diverse collection. Loved the jelly fish and the shark exhibits. The 20 minutes show in the Neptune theater was super educational. This show is not advertised enough so the administrators are reading, please make sure your website highlights this experience of this unique Globe screen and the information you provide. Very nice gift shop. Once you step out, there is the beautiful pier and a trail where you can see lots of birds. Recommend this place to all!

So many wonderful things to see here. All different types of fish, plants, reptiles, shells, etc. See the wonder in the eyes of children seeing sharks up close for the very first time. An educational experience not only for the young but old as well. Such a peaceful place. No matter how many times you go, there is always something new to see.

Yes it is a smaller aquarium but it is a great stop for kids of all ages but for my 4 year old it was a great escape from the heat and she loves animals so it wasn't too overwhelming for her. Good prices but just one thing is that if you reserve more tickets than what you use it just gets donated to the aquarium which I don't have a problem with but it was not stated when reserving the tickets nor was the option give if I wanted to do that it was just automatically done. I just suggest either putting that on the website when reserving or give people the option to donate or want a refund.

You have to pay prior to entering the building
I thinku need to purchase them on the way out, by the gift shop. No online link to download
Fly to Raleigh and drive the rest of the way.
Some areas yes, but I didn't need the flash anywhere, and I got great photos! 💖
What is STAR please
The Sea Turtles have a lot of threats by fishing, pollution and boats. There were maybe 10 of different sizes in the incubator tanks in the lab. The purpose of the exhibit is to educate people on the rescue of these protected animals.
Call and ask the front desk
Check their website, or through the state employment website.
Masks are still required inside the aquarium!
When I was there on the 2nd last week their system was down and you had to buy online. Luckily we purchased before hand anyways. Id recommend getting tickets online to ensure you getting in !
It is 62 and older
No, I would recommend Avenue grill. I went there right after and the burgers were fantastic.
I would think they're closed on Christmas day. Give them a call and ask.
Aquarium employees in scuba gear dive in the tank and feed the sharks.
9-10$ max adults 11-12$
There is a number that you can call in the website to inquire about large groups. There is also a reservation where your may be able to get free admission for a school group. http://www.ncaquariums.com/roanoke-island-groups
They are listed on the website. There is even an option to purchase tickets! How convenient!
The website lists the different prices here: http://www.ncaquariums.com/roanoke-island-tickets
Yes I do believe that on the website it says everyone gets in free. I'd call them just to be on the safe side.
Regular admission for adults is $12.95. Admission for seniors (ages 62 and older) is $11.95.
Are you looking for info about a species or a specific patient in the sea turtle hospital? If you give a few more details we'd be happy to answer. We currently have a sea turtle patient in the STAR Center named Alexander Graham Bell.
No. The gift shop is at the end of the aquarium tour.
Yes, there is a bike rack at the Aquarium for our visitors to use!
No, they remain 9-5 year round. Or they have so far! I would always check their website just to be sure.
They have a group sales office. Try calling.
Not a reef exhibit but a large salt water tank with sharks
1 to 2 hours and most of it is air conditioned
No. The gift shop is right before the exit.
I did not see one when were visiting the aquarium a few weeks ago. There is a big water park H2OBX a bit north.
