A great State Park. It has beautiful hiking trails, a pool and clean well maintained bathrooms/showers. It can get quite hot and poison oak is pervasive. You will need quarters to take a shower. The host can provide these. Of note, one can hear the road from Yurts 1 through 7. I would recommend staying at the sites situated further from the road.

Had a good hike here there's a stream that runs along the main trial with lots of trees for shade

FIVE STARS on: The grounds and the trails are beautiful and peaceful. Excellent location. Yurt host Rico (and his sweet doggy) who bends backwards to help out. The Madrone cabin was perfect except the heater was not working (and the parking spot).. All the yurts have fire rings and are greatly spaced. Cabins do NOT have fire ring. ONE STAR on: Surprise $200 some-sort of damage hold-fee on cabin when checking in at Kiosk. No where was this stated prior to arrival. The Madrone cabin parking spot is super tight and shared with the cabin next door. Hard to get in and out with boulders everywhere and large truck parked next door. The heater was not working properly on nights in low 30s. Park does NOT return calls. I called 4 days in a row to ask about the $200 fee and to report broken heater in Madrone cabin. ONE week after I left all those messages, not ONE return call. No one was working Kiosk to talk to till I was leaving. Upon departure, I spoke to Jason in Kiosk and he definitely needs to work on his manures and people skills.

Great park, convenient to Calistoga. Good spacing between sites. Clean baths and showers. Good hiking trails.

Hi Darlene, dogs are allowed in campgrounds, day use areas and roadways on leash but not in the trail system.
Legally you can sleep in your car at a state park.
Yes and definitely recommended. The yellow jackets out there can be brutal!
Yes the pool is open Saturday & Sunday from 12-2 & 3-5. For more information visit napaoutdoors.org/pool-status
The park is currently open, day use it is open from 8am-Sunset everyday and there are no bookings. The fee is $8 per vehicle ($7 for seniors).
Drive out to the desert maybe
Yes. I believe it is self contained. We just stayed one night and didn't need hook up.
All of our accommodations are available at a nightly rate, we do not offer weekly or monthly rates. Campsites are $35/night, Yurts are $50-75/night, and Cabins are $100-250/night.
No sites with electricity. The showers are pay and somewhat hot. There is electricity in the bathroom to blow dry your hair. Excellent hiking trails but be very careful of ticks and poison oak
They are allowed, on leash. They wouldn't have much fun other than hanging out at the site. Even walks are tough with all the poison oak.
If you are asking about long-term space rentals for an RV or trailer park then the answer would be no. Most people who visit here do not stay more than one week. I stayed with my family for a weekend and it was quite enjoyable! Beware there will be bees attracted to your food so make sure to bring an ice chest and tightly sealed containers for your food. There is a pool on site which is nice for hot days or evenings, and there are some nice shops in downtown Napa to visit and Shop. There are also trails you can walk ,bike, hike, or ride a horse. This is a wonderful campsite, and you should definitely go there.
