The absolute worst!

Please do not check yourself in or let your loved one go here if at all possible. This is long. 1. Zero transparency and no plan of care. I've never encountered such at any other inpatient facility. Patient advocacy is non-existent. You are a cash cow as soon as you are admitted. 2. Upon being unwillingly dumped there by OSU post-ICU, I was left in a dank waiting area, with a stack of papers put in front of me to sign. Zero guidance, support nor transparency again. READ THEM, know your rights. I did not see a psychiatrist for any evaluation, but was given a pink slip with ZERO explanation as to what the process was. Terrifying. 3. Upon being taken to Sage ward, a rude nurse named KEN took me in a room and began an interrogation: "I suppose you know what you're here for." Yes, I felt like I had committed a crime for being mentally ill. Extremely crude, stigmatizing, and unprofessional, and again, you have rights. It's called Ohio State Board of Nursing. This is unethical treatment. 4. I did not see a psychiatrist or MD for 2 days, though I had been transported from ICU. When I finally did see the psych, it was less than 4 minutes-- she was not empathetic, but was rude, and dismissive. Then she proceeded to mock me after I tried to express my sincere concerns. I can assure you they definitely billed Medicare for more than 4 minutes. That is fraud. She had zero concern for my physical nor psychological well-being. The second visit was also less than 5 minutes, and again, zero concern about my health. Unacceptable. Is it 1922?? Who is actually the crazy one? 5. I asked if I could transfer to a facility closer to my family. Psych dismissed my concerns and flatly stated, "We don't do that." As in, you can't leave because you are a cash cow, not a human with feelings. Overnight nurse was overheard stating that they are overbooking to increase profit. Remember folks, mentally ill does not equate to ignorant. Once you are in they will not give you any info on plan of care nor discuss progress and release dates. Welcome to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. 6. Vitals were neglected by more than one staff member. Again, I was there post ICU. I almost died prior. Good thing I know how to monitor myself. Not everyone is that lucky. The support staff was more helpful than almost anyone on the medical team. I can be certain that their salary is much lower. They need a raise: Pam, Terry, Joe, all the art therapists, a few of the kind RNs. They actually treated us like humans. The rest need more training or a different job. 7. My mother could not get any callbacks from my so-called doctor nor patient "advocate." Nor could my own psychiatrist, who also requested a transfer or coordination of care. 8. I requested no pork due to religious restrictions, which was blatantly disregarded. Also unethical. 9. Summarily, this place claims to be therapeutic. That's a marketing ploy to make their website look good. It is a trap. I left that place no better off than I was upon forced admission. It was traumatizing and I strongly caution anyone to allow themselves to be transported there, if possible. Could it be worse? Sure. Could it be better? Oh yes. Profit before patient is unacceptable. Being sick is not a crime nor an excuse for neglect. You do have rights, and this facility needs a visit by the Joint Commission ASAP.

If you have a loved one staying here, good luck getting updates. It's ridiculous how hard it is to get ahold of anybody. No one ever answers the phone and if they do, odds are you'll be transferred to someone who won't

I wouldn’t even send my worst enemy to your facility!!! It’s so sad how you treat the patients. My best friend is there under pink slip and she is in worse condition then she was before. Your facility broke every law related to pink slip. You illegally transported her to OSU by lying to her saying she is there to get evaluated and get help but OSU had called me and told me she was send there illegally because your facility supposed to considered to have the same level of care as OSU but apparently not. According or ORC 5122.10 she should have been seen by a physician or doctor within 24 hours she has been there since Thursday it is now Sunday your nurse Charles told me they just assigned a doctor to her today. Your staff and the CEO Shawn Holt don’t know the law. Shawn Holt told me and OSU she would be released on Sunday, then Shawn Holt said it’s Monday now I spoke with Charles he said Tuesday. I have all these recorded. I called at 9:30am trying to get an update the lady told me her nurse will call me in an hour no one ever called me. I had to call and speak with someone. Now they are forcing her to sign paper works or they are going to hold her longer. I am forced to get her a lawyer, and I have all the conversations recorded to provide to her lawyer. I called the police they came but the can’t do anything even if they did break the law.
