Capital city Gardens was a nightmare to deal with. I spent so much time calling every single day to get problems resolved which most of the time never got resolved. They would only let a nurse practitioner see my mom and not a real doctor. I asked to speak with him, and nearly 2 weeks later I finally got a call and this man was a complete jerk from the moment I first said hello. I advised my mom was hearing voices asking her to cut herself because they were not giving her the medications she has taken for decades. She was having seizures because they put her on new meds... in which case they refused to return the 3 calls her regular neurologist made on her behalf to fix this. They refused to give her enough insulin and the nurse practitioner told me there is no problem with keeping her blood sugar between 350 and 500. The nurse practitioner hung up on me! One night my dad had to go down at midnight and beat on the door to get in because they had refused to give any insulin and said the doctor said she doesn't get any more insulin (which was absolutely going to kill her). If you want you loved ones to die I definitely recommend sending them to Capital City Gardens but if you love them, then definitely keep them far far away! I took my mom out of there and sent her elsewhere and haven't had any problems at all with the new place!

Capital City Gardens refused to give me enough insulin and one day they refused any insulin and told me the doctor won't let me have any more which isn't right. One of the staff was very abusive. I am elderly and deserve better than this place. They are very negligent.

Update 11/17/21: Unfortunately my niece passed away on July 4th. I promised her that I would do what I could to make things better for the residents that's she cared so much about. She had terrible and lack of proper care in this facility. The staff were uncooperative with the family and twice we had appt. scheduled, and they refused to meet with us. They were rude and lied to us. They jeopardized her health by not giving her life saving antibiotics in her pic line because they did not have the medication and lied to us about it. They ignored her absess tooth and possible blood clot in her leg for days. We had to intervene. This is only an example of the lack of care. I spoke with other residents and heard horror stories. The facility is so dirty as you can see in someone else's review. I reported this to the Board of Health and on Sept 3 they conducted an investigation. Capital City was sited with many serious faults to the residents. They were cited both by the State and Federal levels. From the review I recently read nothing much has improved. I urge you not to put your loved ones here. It needs to be closed down. I myself have worked privately in nursing homes with clients and this is the worst. I have nothing good to say about this nursing home.most of the staff do not care about the welfare of the residents or their family. Our loved one was not given proper care. They had no air conditioning in their rooms until the Board of Health intervened. The bathrooms are disgusting. The staff lied to us, did not keep us up with our loved ones Health issues. I can go on and on. They should be rated 0, and be closed down. Think twice before putting your loved one in this facility. The do have some caring staff, but far but few. It is too late for our loved one. I have experience with many nursing homes, this is horrible beyond comprehension. They had no air conditioning in any of the patients rooms for 3 years. When it was so hot this summer, my niece called the Board of Health because the residents were crying . Within 48 hrs they were made to put Ir conditioning in each room. Please do what you can in support of closing this down.

I worked in this facility tonight I work threw an agency and not for the facility... This place was absolutely disgusting it is horribly dirt's and the night shift was supposed to start at 7pm and no one was there to help me until about 10 pm the night nurse in charge did not even show up till like 9pm the residents are not card for properly as no rounds we done and no one informed me on who I needed to changed and as I went to do rounds the facility aid I was working with changed 2 people and said let's take a break and never got up to change another this place is not sanatay my any means as there was residents going to use one shower room cuz all the others were to dirty to use as a healthcare facility the standard of cleaning should be way higher I have posted pics of the bathroom and hallway as I could not take many cuz of HIPAA please do not send your family here and if they are here please move them this place needs to be shut down I work in facilities all over Ohio and this is by far the worst.....
