Frankin William Women’s Shelter, which is located at 1122 Franklyn Ave je, Bronx, New York, 10456 is the worst place in New York. They treat people as garbage. They have not compasión for people and are not empathy They think that all people that go to a shelter is because is a criminal or a deig addicted. That is not true. Some people loss their jo, their apartment and their income and place not choice that going to a shelter. The staff is very disrespectful, especially the security, they act like if they are a police officer. One of them make me to put all my clothes In a plastic bag when the luggage fit in the machine that is the one that make sure that you do no. bring weapon and/or drugs.. I asked him a few questions and he totally ignored me Someone stole my stuff and instead of them review the rooms, their answer was that it happens all the time. The place is disgusting, scaring and in insanitary condition. The staff have no manners and they look at you down. The name of the person who make me to pit my clothes in a plastic garbage is Miller. It is shameful that it happens in the US when this is supposedly the richest and more advance country in the world. That place should be either close or fix. They have o professional staff who are able to work with all kind of population. People need to be treated with respect and empathy no matter if is a homeless or the president of the Unite State.

Whatever you do don't mention that you have any mental health issues like ADHD Anxiety they will put you in a dangerous looney bin shelter for the mentally deranged

Anti white and stealing is permitted since the director stole from me. My wheelchair was damaged, my repair kit was taken, and Mr Rose illegally took my artwork and sold it keeping the money.

Is this the type of shelter where you can leave your belongings or you have to take it with you?
Not that l know of
It was an armory for men. The dining area was an airplane hanger.
Yes, they take all women. You are never alone 😇
This is a point A place, come in, nurse, intake they find a floor according to your needs. I have to be here between 3/4 weeks, get placed into a shelter, after 90 days I have a place waiting for me. You have to go through the system to get anything. They'll help you, you must be willing to help yourself. Lots of women, estrogen, hormones, just mind your business, keep a determined focus and act as if you want to prosper and get your own. Staff here is nice as long as you carry and conduct yourself in a respectable manner. There are a looooot of worse places than this. They feed us good, hot food, free washer and dryers, arts and crafts, pool table, library, snacks and its always better than being in the street, or better than someplace you're not wanted or are in danger. They will help you reach Point B. Rest is up to you. Hope this helps. Stay safer, don't despair if you may have to stay a little longer than intended, find its in your best interest.
Yes, The shelter is open and does accepts donations that are prepared and packaged. You might want to provide a fork or spoon because these meals will have to be enjoyed curbside. Often times you might want to just leave them with security at the front entrance. The best way to give clothing donations might be with Mrs Freeman who collects these resources and provides access to them for Job interviews. You can also coordinate with the church up the block across from the corner store for larger donations.
I’m not sure because I’m not an employee at this agency. I haven’t utilized their services throughout nor since the pandemic. I don’t want to give out any misleading information about the services conducted by the Franklin Williams Shelter.
I'm looking for my friend Chanel Belcher
Yes
I don't have ur email.. I asked this question on google and u responded
As far as i know yes and b ready 2 b in by 10 pm is curfew
Definitely open but they're like a welfare office .. theyNEVER pick up but l guarantee they're there l JUST LEFT
Actual they don't give out information on their clients u can just try asking someone that's living there..
Yes
If God b 4 U who or what can come against you You will have to do some deep searching for yourself I hope the best for you
Unless you are black, Hispanic or mixed race and into drugs, don't go there.
Depends who you working with the staff can be nice or nasty. The phones will never be answered. The staff messed up my paperwork work. I just say mind your business and you good.
The process is still the same maybe even a little better. He come in they search your property you get assessed they give you a bed you stay there for 6 days or less while they assess you to see what services you need then they send you to a program shelter meaning that will be your official shelter until you find a permanent place to stay it's clean it's quiet and it's not full to capacity due to the pandemic so let's say they have 120 beds only 70 beds a full
You go straight to Brooklyn women's shelter at 116 Williams Street and bklyn ny and tell them you have nowhere else to go thats the assessment shelter but if you live bronx you go to Franklin Williams shelter in the bronx. Good luck be safe and make sure you stick with it to get your housing voucher it worth it
Go where you got the vaccine and the hospital has a record because I went to hospital and the hospital knew about the shot I got in San Francisco which was Moderna Inc.and the hospital In LA had the record so I think the hospitals know???
No, it's only a woman's shelter
I suggest the most important things, because de lockers are small
Yes. They sure are.
She sounds ridiculous. Vouchers are slow in NYC ,due to pandemic sourcing out of motel space to DHS and rental forgiveness. Consequently, there are less Apts for rent and the cities homeless are comfortable in motels. Causing backlogs- because they usually fall victim to recertification.
No. Eligibility is based on not having a permanent residence.
You can bring service animals only if you have proof they are really service animals. Such as a doctors note.
No. Women only. You and a Girlfriend yes; legally binding, but no Boyfriend.
Yes it’s for females that have nowhere to go and they help u get on your feet
it's like a secret hometown it's only your imagination Auburn Escape go
You must go to the shelter get an assessment and be in the system for 90days before any resources about housing applications are submitted it can take up to a yr for you to see any results
Ok thank you
You don't need any paperwork to be taken in
No outside snacks
There is a cooling center near the recreation area where they serve meals. The dorms are cooler then you think because of a cross breeze. And a fan or 2.
Yes
8 am off the dorm floor gotta be in by 10pm
Go the Brooklyn women's shelter at 116 Williams Avenue in Brooklyn. Take c train there. Franklin women's shelter is nightmare on elm street. Avoid immediately.
They have a machine and so will see anything glass, anything metal. this is a 21-day assessment shelter the sooner you get your physical and mental appts done the sooner they will place you somewhere better. You'll. have to get a TB test too so make sure you get them all. You can even get the tb done somewhere else and have them transfer the info to the shelter to lessen your wait
Me and man had a couple
It depends cause I got my voucher while I was there it depends on you
Not for Camba Shelters this isnt viewed as a national holiday.
And it is
Go to Franklin Shelter by the 21 bus route and they will expidite u quickly as long as u go to all your appointments. They will send u to a permanent shelter until they find u housing.
It depends. Sometimes it takes a couple of days. Sometimes it takes two weeks or a month. All depends on the paper work and who u need to see.
Walk in do the paperwork and you'll be in immediately they'll assign you a bed and your in
