It was very disappointing to arrive at such a cool, surfer themed hut and expect to enjoy an amazing beachside burrito and take a bite of a plain burrito filled with rice that was practically mashed potatoes, undercooked meat, unseasoned beans, and random chunky, pink sauce, the only thing that I could taste was the hot sauce. It does not live up to the name of a San Diego burrito acknowledging the fact that the family business started in San Diego. Da Kine Diego, more like Da Kine you throw in the trash.

The burrito was fairly large for the price. I paid for guacamole and extra chicken. Got the guacamole, but the burrito had the same amount of chicken as my buddy’s. Turned out to be okay with that since they use a frozen chunked and formed type of chicken from a bag. Something you would find in the freezer section of your local grocery chain. The tortilla shell had good bite and chew. The rest of the ingredients were bland and I used a liberal dose of hot sauce. If you’ve spent any time in San Diego or Texas you’ll probably wish you picked another spot. The venue itself was neat and the facilities were clean. Take it or leave it, you won’t miss much.

To my own surprise, the burritos were not insane.

Do not believe the hype. How does this place have such good ratings!? Hands down worst burrito I’ve had in my life. I’ve traveled a lot in search of good burritos all over the country and world and this is by far the worst. Very bland, not authentic, sorry excuse for a burrito. It was awful. Nice staff, cool place, cold beer, awful food. Save your money and appetite, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Also the quality of the meat was so bad and worse than my elementary school cafeteria meat/burritos they served. This places food is one word, terrible. You would be better off looking for a burrito in an airport or hospital rather than this place.

The workers no longer wear masks but it is socially distanced outdoor seating
They have a sign next to the front door that says no pets allowed. And I have never seen any pets inside either. But I've only been there twice and the food is outstanding.
No, I don't believe that they have any menu promotions
No. No air conditioning. But, Da Kine Diego's is cool enough. With the ocean being across the street, there is typically always an on or offshore breeze.
They accept credit cards
None that I am aware of..
