Do I need an appointment to renew my passport there?

No not at all

You & your fiance would need to go in person to the courthouse & go to the marriage license/clerk of court's office, present your IDs (their website has a list of acceptable identification but you can just each take your driver's licenses), & provide your SSNs (you don't need the physical SSN cards, you just need to be able to verbally tell the clerk what they are) & they will provide you with the license! There is an $86 fee for it so just come prepared. You can bring the license back as soon as it's been signed by your officiant to get your official copies for your certificate of marriage. St. John's County Courthouse is not requiring appointments at this time either so the whole process is very convenient. :)

I'm sorry but I am not sure I believe it's about $36.50 when I pay per year but I've been living here for a long long time so I don't remember what it was the first time out since the laws have changed. But I can tell you this it's staffed by the most industrious people with integrity that I have a lot of respect for. That's including the PD who does the screening and security for the building, the clerk of Court's office and all the people at the window for evictions or civil cases. The judges affair and efficient. I've never had a criminal case so I can't speak to that but find everyone that works there are fine people.

Figure it out before you get there, as the Clerks are there ONLY to file papers NOT give anything that resembles assistance.

It is the building between the jail and the DMV. After you go through security they will direct you to the Clerk's office. You will walk through the courtyard and into the main building then make a left

Go to the clerk's website and look up the court records by the person's name, or call the traffic clerk's at 819-3900. They are very helpful.
