I'm a recent graduate from Acts@Keystone, And my experience compared to any past review is the Total Opposite, I was given the necessary tools and knowledge for which I am Extremely Grateful. The Staff and Counselors were very Helpful and did all they could to make my stay there a pleasant one. " you will get out of it what you put into it", Remember, its your Recovery and not there's, "You can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink", I would without a doubt in my mind recommend Act's to anyone in Need. They made sure the next steps in my recovery were in the right direction. if your serious about your recovery this is the place..

I was a resident in August and September of 2021. I caught COVID19 Delta variant. i was put on quarintine for 10 days and was put under so much stress when i came back i had to leave. i have maintained my sobriety on my on. its a good facility but they are petty on some levels. you can smoke 3 times a day. I feel that they did me wrong. the director is awesome and so are both Therapist named Don D. and Don P.

You have a deer a turkey and a squirrel, pull up to you standing on the side of the road with your thumb up. You hop into that rundown 74 Impala having no idea where you are headed, you arrive to your unknown destination. And your journey begins. Distractions, the deer the turkey the squirrel. Staff other clients, even the individuals running the place. I learned that the focus was not them, I needed to keep the focus on me, broken, jacked up from the floor up I came in, left with tools and a new clear pair of glasses. Don p. Thank you Don D. Thank you, staff thank you. It wasn't the place that was the ploblem, it was I that had the problem and I left those problems, demons, thoughts right there at the fence line. In closing. It's all about the (NOW ) and the ESSENCE. THANK YOU KEYSTONE

Because it's just another day and presumably the patient knows to avoid those types of activities? Just a thought...
If you call them they have a list of allowed items, but I remember there was a lot of restrictions. I remember them all but there is too many to list on here...
If you are court ordered you are required to complete an aftercare program, usually at ACTS in Tampa. If you are from a different county besides Hillsborough, ACTS will find you a closer Aftercare program. All treatment centers recommend aftercare. It is an important part of recovery. ACTS aftercare is free. Almost all treatment facilities provide free aftercare. You will be required to submit to random drug screens which can help you with your recovery. If you have a craving to use knowing that you have drug screens may help you make it through that craving. Although cravings do not usually last long they can fell like enternity.
Court ordered clients are funded by the state. They have a sliding fee scale for other clients. They take some insurance as well. If you have insurance, I would suggest finding a for profit facility. I say this because the majority of the clients there are court ordered and many not all, do not want to be there. This fact can make it a negative environment but it really depends on your own attitude. Clients who are serious can often get drawn into the negativity. That is the nature of the beast call addiction.
If ACTS determines you merit further treatment the wait time for an open bed can be months. If during your previous treatment at ACTS, if you had problems following their rules or had been unsuccessfully discharged they might not take you back.
ACTS is required to notify the drug court and you will be in violation of your probation. A warrent will be issued and if you are picked up you will sit in jail waiting to explain to the judge why you left treatment. Depending on your past history with the legal system or other past treatment history the judge may order you to complete another program, serve your original sentence, and on very rare occasions continue your probation without further treatment. If he orders you back to treatment you will most likely spend time in jail due to the long wait lists getting into treatment. Stick it out no matter how much you dislike or you will be caught in the revolving door of Florida's legal system.
It is non smoking but most of the time it is not enforced. If it is you pick up cigarette butt's or lose a Sunday pass. The facility is non smoking because it receives federal funds so if they got caught not enforcing it they probably would have some legal problems.
Yes sometimes there is rules about it
Methodone is a treatment alternative for opiates and no ACTS does not allow it because it is addicting and defeats the whole purpose of becoming drug free. There are centers that disperse methodone in a controlled environment. Paul must be thinking about one of these places but not ACTS. I worked at the facility for 10 years retiring a year ago. I doubt ACTS changed their policy since Paul posted his review 2 years ago. Don't depend on reviews, even my own. Call the facility to get the facts.
Treatments would depend on physician assesments
