Very nice member of staff on the gate that warned us the bridge was down to get to beach which meant wading across knee deep water. That sounded like fun so we were off to the beach. Crikey the water was cold and I have so much more respect for John Wayne and all the other cowboys. I never imagined the water would be that cold. I suppose it was even worse for the horses. Beach was good with lots of pelicans diving for fish. Give it a try

Nice family walk on a very easy path to the edge of the ocean. There are driftwood cabins all over the place. We picnicked in one. Go to the far right to see Big Sur River flowing into the ocean π This forms a very shallow mini lake where some kind of ducks have taken up residence π¦π¦

Yes it is, they have fire pits and I think bbq pits. More importantly though, check to see if its still open. Land slides a few years ago closed it and im not sure its open yet. Beautiful place to camp though.
I believe the only dog friendly campground is pheifer state park but there is a strict leash policy.
some trails are open -- but the temp bridge over the creek is still closed ..so not a lot to do there
Allowed.
The foot bridge is seasonal. The bridge is taken out sometime in October, usually end of October.
You can get an idea of whether or not it's worth going to from here: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?11143000; I forget where I heard this river gauge reads from. I think somewhere around River Inn. But it'll give you an idea if it's traversable.
I am not sure if they allow over night parking. I think your best bet would be to look for a camp site in big sur which is only few miles away. If you don't want to do that there is a small area next to the entrance for Andrew Molera park where you might park but its right on the Hwy 1.
Check Pacific Grove & Santa Cruz. City info might be announcing when they arrive etc.
I dont believe so
closed becasue of storm damage... I do not think there is an estimate --- also a temp. bridge over the creek is not there any more -- so this might take a while before it re-opens
They should! Worst case scenario you park right across from the park entrance (there's a big empty dirt lot by the road) and walk in.
The trail camp at Andrew Molera has been closed ever since the 2015 Sobranes Fire. I seriously doubt it will reopen, since the unrestricted policies that formerly governed the Ventana Wilderness played a role in facilitating the behavior that led to the fire.
