Dr. Asaikar 5 stars plus some! My son has an upcoming EEG with this doctor, I know he will be in good hands.

Doctor never checks the patient's file before seeing the child. My son was diagnosed with schizencephaly at 18m he is 6 now. He acts like he knows everything about this extremely rare neurological condition and argues with me about how it is effecting my son. He has dropped the ball multiple times on ordering tests, specialists and medication. Then I was told he is the only option.

My son walks because of Dr. Asaikar. He is outstanding. You will wait for afternoon appointments, but I found that this is because he will spend whatever time is necessary with each patient. So I would just say, book early appointments and plan to wait. Also, I recently spoke with his office staff over the phone and they were extremely helpful.

I went Dr. Asaikar when I was in my late teens because I was experiencing auras and was afraid I might be epileptic. Dr Asaikar denied it could be any such thing and instead diagnosed me with clinical depression. So he dismissed the idea that it could be epilepsy when I suggested it but then was eager to give me a prescription for Prozac and klonopin. Fast forward to when I’m 21 and I have a major seizure and am put in an induced coma. Turns out, after visiting a more competent neurologist, I was right and I do have temporal lobe epilepsy. Not only are his bedside manners lackluster, and his readiness to prescribe SSRIs disconcerting, but he failed to do the one thing that mattered most to me, which was giving me an accurate diagnosis and medicating me accordingly. I’m not a doctor, but I was laying out all of my symptoms to him and was pretty sure I had some form of epilepsy but yet he wouldn’t listen. Competence doesn’t always come with experience and I would look for another doctor who is more thoughtful and interested.
