A negative rating would be more appropriate. There was a mattress in the parking lot, trash everywhere. People clearly living there, working on broke down vehicles in the parking lot. Went in the room and it was absolutely disgusting. The smoke detector was cut out, mold in the bathroom, food stuck in the refrigerator, ashes next to the fireplace. The couch looked like someone decomposed on it and it wasn't ever cleaned. The trim was falling off the walls, exterior door was all scratched up, the curtains had been cut. Bathroom mirror hadn't been cleaned. The longer I stayed while on the phone with corporate, the worse it looked. Oh, and they apparently charge an additional $50 for a pet, non-refundable. The front desk note just said a $25 cleaning fee would be applied if your pet was not cleaned up after. The ONLY good was that I was given a refund.

Positive: There was nothing to like about this hotel. it was badly maintained. if this had been a refundable purchase, I'd have got the refund for it as soon as I saw the room. Negative: There were lot of things i didnt like about this hotel. 1. there were no blankets, towels in the room and we had to ask them for it. 2. the carpet and couch upholstery were stained. 3. there were no trash cans in the room. 4. the reception staff was r

Upon visiting the luxurious Hawthorn Suites, I was greeted by a parking lot full of cars with flat tires and smashed windows boarded up or plastic covered. This really added to the ambiance of the location. I was surprised to find that I was upgraded to the VIP Penthouse suite, which was a breath of fresh air. Sadly, that breath was quickly replaced with stale cigarette, mold, and urine. As I made my way to the room, I appreciated the creative use of cigarette butts as a mulch replacement. The door appeared to be ajar upon entering, and I found the interior had a "highly used" rustic feel and look. The stains on the couch had crusted over which provided fantastic lumbar support. Traveling alone? Need not be worries here as you will be accompanied by numerous stains of unknown origin on all the linen, and what looked like blood on the walls. The charred mattress provided a unique distracting aroma. Upon inquiring about a cancelation,as I was unfortunately not used to such splendor, the host provided an immediate and unquestioned refund, strangely as if this happened often.

The worst hotel I've ever seen. Dirty, smelled, garbage everywhere outside of the units. No smoke alarm in the room, which was ironic considering that one of the units at the end of the row we were in had recently burned down... A mostly used bar of soap in the bathroom, a single roll of toilet paper that was 90% used. No garbage can of any kind in the bathroom. Dirty and disgusting. The service was almost equally as bad. You have to work really hard to appear that uninterested in the customer standing in front of your desk. We walked into the room and looked at it for no more than 30 seconds before we were so disgusted that we turned around and walked back out. I've never left a bad review for a hotel before, but for the sake of humanity I felt like it way my duty to try to warn my fellow man. Do not go to this hotel unless you literally have lost all hope.
