The office manager at Fox Pointe is such a low-IQ sphere of adipose tissue that he keeps the heat on inside all of the apartments even when it’s 80 degrees outside.

Leasing agent (office manager) consistently lies and has a never-ending list of excuses for why repairs can’t be made. Based on his appearance, he is likely too busy eating and sleeping to be bothered with any maintenance requests or general upkeep of the common areas.

Leasing agent is literally worthless. No repairs are made to apartments and they keep the heat on even when it’s 70 degrees outside.

Current resident of this place (4/6/2021). Some of the higher rated reviews on google are not reflective of my experiences living here. As I am currently writing this review, I am dealing with a soaked bathroom floor that is completely covered with foul water from an overflowed toilet due to a random clog that I did not cause. This is an example of some things you might go through if you plan to live here. I don’t usually write reviews on apartments and I give properties chances to make things right but I think this place warrants one. Here is a list to summarize the major points: PROs: -Apartments close to Bloomfield Hills where there’s lots to do and a 15min drive to Oakland University. -maintenance and office eventually respond to you, staff may appear friendly but quality of service and building is lacking, more on that later.. -decent living space for 1 bedroom with ample closet space -appliances are somewhat functional -free heat/water and option to buy a covered parking spot for extra monthly fee of $15 -public washer dryer that uses a card loaded with bills, instead of quarters -the maintenance guy (Kevin) is helpful and tries his best to fix up the place -they perform routine carpet cleanings and leave salt+shovel in public areas for winter. Unfortunately this is where the pros end. Now for the negative experiences. CONs: -noisy and inconsiderate neighbors (upstairs neighbor blasts his music, you can hear people outside arguing, shouting, talking late at night, random broken beer bottles/cigar wrappers tossed out on the ground outside) -quality of living feels cheap (doors don’t close all the way as if they were fitted incorrectly, carpets are ancient and contained subtle residual stains, the light fixture in the bedroom was disassembled on move in day, window blinds constantly fall off tracks, broken locks to main door/keys don’t fit properly bc they might have been copied too much which is huge safety risk, place doesn’t feel secure) -apt is outdated (overflowing toilets, leaky ceilings from poor drainage systems or neighbors flooding their floors above, food debris/garbage appearing in dishwasher from connected dishwasher from neighbor’s apartment- how does that even happen?!, unfinished repairs just left there for resident to deal with) -trains blaring their horns multiple times at night -when I moved in, the leasing office told me that there was a burned area on my kitchen counter and they assured me they would replace it ASAP. It never got done. (It wasn’t a big deal to me but responses are inconsistent). -smell of marijuana or foul odors permeating some of the residential common areas that I need to hold my breath to pass. - to my knowledge, there are only 2 maintenance staff who work on the entire apartment complex. I’m certain because I’ve had to call maintenance multiple times and one of two guys would consistently show up. They are incredibly slow to respond to an emergency order even when it involves massive flooding of their property. Not their fault but still reflective of poor service and management nonetheless (short-staffed and under resourced) -value: These apartments are not worth my $700/month, especially if I have to deal with multiple issues that are out of my control. Update on the toilet: Both maintenance guys showed up, could not fix the clog, didn’t tell me their plans to fix the toilet and just left. I didn’t plan on babysitting my apt the whole day but I will now in case something else breaks. Overall, the word that best describes living here at Foxpoint Apartments is “Stressful”. It’s a shame too since this place looked like it had so much potential in terms of being a great place to live at an affordable price but overtime you will notice some bigger flaws that are not worth your time, money and peace of mind. My advice to anyone thinking about leasing here is take your money and go spend it on a place that cares about their property and resident comfort. Because of these issues, I will not be renewing my lease
