One of the best places for indy and obscure videos . Some people even rent them overseas. The in house movie screenings are often top notch, worthwhile and unlike Landmark none of the films that are playing there are franchise films being shown in suburban malls. They once played a film there for me when I was the only one who showed. The staff are unusually knowledgeable and even the popcorn people talk like film historians. Where else can you find another theatre where you can find a customer who knows all the Pasolini and Sembene films?

It's a cinemathèque. Such a sublime concept. I live in a city of 200,000 people and yet we have no commercial movie theater, much less an arthouse. I subscribe to Facets' DVD service as much to underwrite Milos Stehlik's vision as to enjoy great movies. It's like having access to a friend's brilliant film collection. Not every city is fortunate enough to have a cinemathèque.

While we do not have a designated parking lot, there is free parking available in front of Facets on Fullerton between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and after 6:00 PM. We are also surrounded by unzoned, free parking on W Montana St, W Belden Ave, N Greenview Ave, N Janssen Ave, N Bosworth Ave, and N Clyborn Ave.
Our rentals department is open every day from noon until 9pm, 8pm on Sundays. Our theater will be open approximately 40 minutes before the showtimes.
Call during business hours and ask
I am unaware of their ticket refund policy, if any. Their tickets are reasonably priced and they are a legitimate non-profit, so at the very worst, consider it a donation.
They have a huge and varied collection. You may want to give them a call.
