Worst treatment of human beings I have ever had the unfortunate circumstances to meet. THESE people treat the place like a prison. I unfortunately got caught here during the pandemic and the staff made it even harder for the families there. Mean spirited people running the place. Hateful of any woman who has a man coming in with the family.

Very nice staff help me and my family get placed. I'm so grateful for the women at the front desk

They were no help! I have called 311 and made two separate shelter request and still on the street freezing waiting for a call back.

Me and my Family were treated very well during our time of need. They did not hesitate to take us in. We were fed and placed in a private room until they found a program for us. The staff there were kind and respectful from beginning to end. Thank you so much Shield of Hope!

Only if there isn't space in our shelter. Our facility has 20 rooms and holds up to 72 individuals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wW5wdNC3J8&t=0s&list=PLRtE8svmrQwDLBwZJxq_zGvKLeeGzBur5&index=5
I'm in a shelter now. The shelter itself does help you by assessing your (housing) needs (and that of your kids if you have any). And they will help you find housing that are accepting applications and help you apply, like SECTION 8, CHA and HUD or any other affordable/low income housing Then they let you know if anything becomes available. I only been here one month. I don't know about jobs cos I'm on disability...Hope this helps.
No the find you a shelter placement. They do have resources and help with job readiness and training
You just have too call they know everything but you have to call 311 and tell them you need shelter
No it's only women and kids. But they can help find a family shelter
And they will come and get you
Immediately if they have available space it is a shelter that houses families.
Hello Ivan, this is a family shelter.
Please contact 311 and inform them you need shelter, ask if you can get shelter at The Salvation Army Shield of Hope.
Hello Raianna, The Shield of Hope is an emergency shelter. Referrals come through the 911 system. However our Corps Community Centers do help with housing through the Pathway of Hope program.
