My parents live at Maravilla. They have lived there for one month and three days and have numerous health issues that have evolved and the senior administrative staff has chosen to ignore. Please be aware that Maravilla is understaffed at every level and that most operations, like meds management, nursing, and in unit caregivers, are stretched more than thin. Also, there is no one at the senior management level that will respond to you unless you push very hard. Most of the understaff are exceptionally kind,, but that does not make up for the lack of staffing, which we are paying for.

My mother has been a resident for many years in Independent living apts. Shes always been impressed with and grateful for the staff and meals. Beautiful grounds, nice on site amenities. Seems they don't any programs to help bridge indy living and assisted living...that and until recently staff would help with little bits, but seems more ever independent is just that. She loves the meals. Ive enjoyed them mostly too, especially the big holiday meals we hope to get back soon! Overall lovely, retirement option for those that can afford it. Mom's been quite happy in independent apt. UPDATE: Mom is less happy with the assisted living service, and we're all very frustrated at admins lack of response to her onsite issues, and worse yet needless delays getting her back home after hospital and rehab.

When you first get there to make a major decision on placing a loved one there, the staff is Johnny on the spot. After you move a loved one in you start to see all the small cracks in the service they promise you. I must say first and most important should be the food they are feeding our elders. There isn't even a nutritionist there, yes the food looks good but isn't good for them. Cleanliness that's a joke. they have a cleaner come in once a week to clean. These are older people so they have accidents, so once a week is totally unacceptable. If you need house keeping they will up charge you. If they show up at all. I personally went and bought a mop and cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom. Night time staff is nonexistent, we hired outside help due to staff not answering the calls when resident's push their button. I could go on but I hit the max on words allowed. please if you have a loved one that needs assisted living, this place forgets what assistance means.
