Great place, they have a splash pad, kayak launch, and plenty of walking/riding trails.

This park is very well maintained. Even the bathrooms are some of the best I've ever seen for a park. Very safe with multiple trails to walk, hike, run, and bike. Paved as well as dirt trails.

Woodkands Pavillion is the perfect place for any large outdoor event. Near a beautiful walking trail that's not a difficult walk for anyone. Many sitting areas along the trail with great vistas. Great for bird watchers and plant geeks. Next to a Splash Park for the kids.

There's overlooks along the Woodlands Trail which would make for some great backdrops for photos and open fields full of blooming flowers.

For family get-togethers you don't need a reservation, but anything over a get together I would check with them about. Like if you are planning a huge family reunion, a wedding, a large wedding reception, or something similar I would get in contact with them. I know a part of the Parklands near Broad Run has a large barn they rent out for just such occasions.
To my understanding grilling out is not allowed in any of the parklands parks.
Nicole, The most popular and easily accessible falls is at Limestone Gorge in Broad Run Park. There is a small parking lot with a short walk down a concrete sidwalk to the Loop, go to the bridge to view the falls and the deep cut gorge. However, the waterfalls in our park are only visible after a large amount of rainfall.
Not to my knowledge was a beautiful place to visit great trails

Be sure to take the Woodlands Trail. Starts near the pavillion. All shade for a jot summer's day.
Expect the normal creek fish, ie bluegill, sunfish (multiple species), rock bass, largemouth/smallmouth bass, and a few others ive heard some people have caught carp or drum there as well. Use live bait on smaller hooks or smaller lures!
Joyce, You can check their Website/Map to locate the Splash Park. Bardstown Road entrance 2 1/2 miles into park.

Linda, the Cliffside Sprayground was only closed for a short amount of time due to damage from storms. It is now operating regularly.
You have canoe and kayak access points which you can walk down to and wade and fish or get a canoe and or a kayak to fish, this stream is full of panfish.
Hi Rhonda, dogs are welcomed in the park, just make sure they are on a leash!
You can find out on the Parklands website.
Hi Eliza, The Parklands does not have a permanent volleyball net installed. I hope you are able to enjoy the many other amenities at The Parklands!
Yes
