Hosted a writer's retreat at the Strawhouse this last weekend and what a magical time it was. Don, Julia, and the entire resort staff went far beyond expectation to make our entire event truly extraordinary and beautiful. From the cozy and beautiful cabins with stunning riverfront views, to the thoughtfully prepared and delectable meals, the attention to detail and exceptional warmth and personable interactions were truly world class. Can't gush enough; just GO, you'll see!

What a great place, in fact, downright immaculate. The property was very well taken care of, the landscaping and vegetation were beautiful. We stayed in Cottage 24 and it was just perfect, the deck was most enjoyable. The living area had a massive window that viewed directly onto the river and we could see the bald eagle fly by each evening. Lots of cool birds on the property, they seemed very comfortable with the place too. There are several areas down by the river that had comfortable chairs where you can watch the river, I recommend evenings as the light is beautiful. The coffee was great where I enjoyed a cappuccino each morning. If you like decks and great patios, this is your place.

One of my favorite places in the country! Fabulous coffee, food, wine and an amazing atmosphere. Relax on their porch while enjoying the flower covered grounds, many species of birds and sometimes you'll even see the otters playing in the river just steps away from the porch. I can't say enough about this place... it really should be a destination spot if your living in or visiting Northern CA. Call ahead, rent a cottage and experience one of the best places in Northern CA!

Absolutely enchanting! We are a family of three and we loved our short stay at the lovely cottage by the river. The serene surroundings, gorgeous views, galloping river, wonderful hosts, friendly staff and the beautiful tiny house we lived in gave us the gift of being one with nature and much needed quality time with each-other. We had a truly amazing family time, wading through water, catching tiny fishes, soaking in the sights and smells. Taking out time to gaze at the night sky and waiting for the Milky Way to appear was one of my favorites things ! Also, the coffee & pizzas are great, service is nice and Don & Julia are friendly and sweet. All We want to say is a big thank you and that we will be back again.
