One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done. However, you need to take a lot of water with you and an electrolyte drink. At least a gallon (in my opinion) made the mistake of just taking a regular water bottle and it was definitely not enough. Going back up, I experienced dehydration and lack of electrolytes. The weather was hot too, so I suggest starting in the early morning. Besides that though, I loved the water pools at the bottom! It was very refreshing and just a beautiful sight to take in.

The hike is about a mile from trailhead.I am overweight and it was an easy hike.
Yes, but you need a parking pass that can only be purchased online.
I think it says in the website that it has to be printed but they do have a list tbry check. I would hope if you drive all the way out there and didn't print it out they wouldn't turn you away but who knows!
You absolutely need a permit.
It's 17 miles of rough gravel. A sedan could make it but you're likely to bottom out at some point if you don't drive extremely slowly. Dogs are allowed. Hope yours is an able hiker and can take the heat.
Yes but dont go if it's rainy because you would probably struggle if the road is muddy
2.4 miles
When try to get the permit to hike this place, the parking permit will be an option at the end.
