You would think a company that caters to persons with disabilities would make accommodations to help them. However, the accommodations I've seen are an unreasonable way to dispose of the staff and call it something else.

I’m only giving one star because I can’t give less. My son worked at the AFB for almost 2 years. He was diagnosed at a young age with Aspergers. He started out with 3 days and then went to 4 and was always available for 5 days if needed. A few months ago his supervisor confronted him and said he wasn’t finishing his work meanwhile had been doing it the same way since he started which was taught by them. She suspended him and took the 4th day away from him. Then all seemed to be ok and appeared to be business as usual. Then a few weeks ago supervisor confronted him again on quality of work, and suspended him for 5 days. It appears that they didn’t elaborate on his work so he can make it better. Then when he went back after the latest suspension on April 1st (last day of the week he worked.) nothing was said and business as usual. Supervisor called him the next day and fired him over the phone. She could’ve done it the last day he worked at the end of the work day. Instead she called him the next day and terminated him instead of doing in person which indicates poor management training. This was a job that he liked and thought he was doing well at. So what gives? Is this the normal way things are done? Very unprofessional.

My parents are traveling today and my mom left her phone at the Altamonte Springs rest stop. She called me from my father's phone freaking out. Some nice person had turned it in to the maintenance person, Melvin. In the phone was a $20 bill. It was still there when she arrived. She thanked Melvik for keeping it safe and offered him the $20 for a reward, but he wouldn't take it. Thank you, Melvik, for this small, first world problems, Christmas miracle! May God Bless you, and keep you, make his face to shine upon you, be gracious unto you and give you peace! Merry Christmas!

Do you have any job openings for teaching other people like myself or stuffing envelopes etc

My son is 17 and is autistic. Do you have certain programs he can get into to start getting ready for adult life like obtaining employment and maintaining s job, interacting with peers, social skills to obtain friends and basic living skills. Tammie

Tammie, I do not work there but I do work within the special needs community. BAC is a great organization and you should call and setup a visit to see if they are right for your son. Is your son still in highschool?
