We have been so Blessed to be able to call The Farmington Station Mom and Dad's home. When our loved one's can no longer manage for themselves, we have to depend on and trust others to do it for us. We have been with The Station since January 21. From independent living to managed care in the Compass Memory Care Unit. I visit several times per week, so I get to see firsthand the level and more importantly consistency of care The Station provides. It's a newer building, very clean and well maintained and the Maintenace department is on top of every need a family may have. Jessica, The Executive Director is Top Notch. She demands excellence from her entire staff, she leads by example, and you can see how her team respects and loves to work for her and our loved ones. Over the last year I have gotten to know so many people that work there, they become your second family. Both mom and dad are now in memory care, and one would have to wonder how you keep Dementia Residents active and engaged? Luke, who is the Director of Compass Programing is amazing. Every day I see this man put together programs, entertainment, awards and recognition to strive to keep the family engaged and busy, he is relentless in his pursuit and his love for his craft is on display everyday he is there. And for the nursing staff, God Bless all of them. The Station has developed a top-notch staff and they truly care for the residents and their needs. I Absolutely recommend The Farmington Station.

The staff is top notch they have taken very good care of my Dad since arriving over two years ago. He has Dementia and the Compass facility has been instrumental in helping my father in many aspects of this disease. He is always clean and well kept along with his living quarters it is a very well run facility that cares about its residents

Farmington station is a great facility. The staff has been awesome during the Covid pandemic hardworking, helpful and friendly. Luke Baillargeon is a great addition to the Compass Memory Care Unit. If we have any questions or concerns regarding my Dad, Luke responds back in a timely manner. The weekend nurse Pauline and Maureen at the front desk are always helpful too.

I just want to thank all of the staff at Farmington Station for their hard work, and understanding. My mother was hurt in a fall, and was dead set against going to a senior living residence, and after a few months here, she is having fun with her new friends, and has decided to stay for a while! I love that even during this terrible time, the staff is still finding ways to keep the residents busy and having fun, with sing alongs and music and movies outdoors on the patio. Thank you, Farmington Station, for all that you do for my mom!

Questions & Answers

Are you hiring CNAs?

Yes, we hire people with a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. (You may not know that the state of Connecticut doesn’t allow a Home Health Aide certification for assisted living.) We usually have several open positions, both part-time and full-time. You can come into our community anytime and ask our Receptionist for an application. You can fill it out right here, and if the manager is available, you could even be interviewed on the spot and get a job offer right away! It’s also super easy to apply online. Visit our website - see “careers” at the top right. You’ll find a list of open positions. Just scroll to the bottom and click on “view listing”, then scroll down again and hit “apply for this position.”

Is long-term care insurance accepted here?

Yes we do. It is used to help pay the monthly fee for an assisted living apartment and services. It also covers memory care in our Compass Memory Support Neighborhood. People may not know that LTC insurance can also cover respite care, which we offer here. Older seniors often stay with us following a hospitalization or after rehab in a sub-acute rehabilitation facility. They get a fully furnished apartment, and lots of personalized care and attention from our wellness staff while they are still recuperating. This includes help with medication management. Taking new medications as prescribed post-hospitalization can be quite challenging for an elderly person. They also receive assistance with bathing and getting in and out of bed, and lots more. If you have long-term care coverage check out your policy so you know what types of housing and care are covered and how much per day you will have to cover costs.

Our hourly rates are very competitive, with the ability to earn overtime pay. Because we increase rates on a regular basis to remain competitive, call us and ask what the current pay is! We offer very generous Paid Time Off (PTO) that you can use for anything - vacation, sickness, appointments, etc. Our full-time employees get 13 days PTO + 6 paid holidays - almost 4 weeks of vacation! We offer very flexible schedules for part-time or full-time work, and we have seasonal positions for people (like students) who just want to work summers or at other times. You might be interested in our other dining positions (server, dining room supervisor, cook, sous chef). Check out our website for open positions. You can apply online!
