Courtyard by Marriott Memphis Airport

As someone who travels for work I spend a lot of time in hotels and understand that this, being a Marriott in close proximity to the airport and several large companies, might attract many first time visitors. This property is run down and very dated. I've stayed here twice in the last year for early morning flights and both times noticed trash in the hallways and stairwells. Musty rooms. They were repairing the roof on our last stay and there were nails all over the sidewalk, no signs or tarps. Worth the short drive to Poplar or Midtown to find another Marriott.

Positive: Everything was as the reviews said. Room was clean, staff was friendly, A/C worked well. Negative: Upon check in, we were informed of the breakfast hours. The way it was presented made it sound like it was a free continental breakfast, but it was not. This was the only negative for this hotel.

Wish I would’ve looked at the reviews before booking definitely not worth the effort to stay here I was told they do not accommodate families and as a business hotel guest I would not consider this place and I stay at about 150 hotels a year. Very subpar hotel for the brand. I had to sign on here and edit this review things just got way worse at this hotel but I’ve never had a customer agent drag a sign across the lobby so that I could see what it says in front of my guests this was the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever had happen the lady at the front desk is not a good customer service agent and should be banned from ever serving customers and I believe she was possibly prejudice.

On arrival staff was busy talking with friends, did not feel like I was a priority checking in. There was NO INTERNET, and the restaurant was closed so there was no where to eat. They suggested a mexican food place up the road. I went there and ate, but did not feel safe there as there were many people over doing the alcohol. The shuttle to and from the airport was very good, the drivers were very nice and polite. --- I would not recommend staying here, and I would never stay at this location again. --- GOOD luck!
