We loved our weekend adventure at Fort Mountain. The campgrounds are clean and well kept. Each spot is shaded and level. We camp in a pop up but if you camp in a tent then be aware there are gravel lots. We saw wild turkeys and bears along with other wildlife. The trails were a little long but not too strenuous. We fished in the lake but did not catch anything, but we still had fun trying.

Worth visiting in the summer. Nice breezy air and a good escape from the hot weather. The lake was overcrowded during the memorial day weekend. Amazing views with hiking trails for everyone's taste. Paddle boats available for rent. Office staff were kind and helpful. Phone reception is almost non-existent so be prepared. Cottage we stayed in was in a good condition.

Fort mountain State Park is an all right part to go to. We didn't utilize the swimming area that everybody else used before. We just went for the fishing. I can't say that I highly recommend the fishing area because it was pretty hard to even try to get a nibble out of any of the fish. But as for the campgrounds and family fun, I think I would have to highly recommend those areas even though I did not attend them. It was very packed out and all the kids and family looked at it as though they were having fun. Hope you guys enjoy.

We visited Fort Mountain State Park recently and we had a wonderful time. Since we have visited all 56 Tennessee State Parks we thought we would visit Georgia State Parks. We are glad we went here. We enjoyed seeing the 4 story look out …

They sell firewood at the park office as well.
Some do but I don't think all of them do. Pretty sure some are lake front.
Personally I use worms and that worked great
Yes. They do not have stables.
The best thing to do is bring you some bug spray its summer and your going to be outside so be prepared.... Just enjoy yourself..
The website says that there are 25+ miles of horse trails.
All over the place in Blairsville GA. Further North.
Check with the rangers and they will be happy to help you find just the right place to hold your wedding. Ft Mountain had some very beautiful areas that would be ideal for a wedding. Good luck.. Charlie
Yes there is..
Never been to Mistletoe State Park. Enjoyed Fort Mountain State Park. Park was clean and had small fishing/swimming lake. Restrooms very clean.
I can't think of any place that rents them
Yes there is campsites there like pull behind. I'm not really sure of RV 's.
I think so but you can call and they can answer any questions 🙂
They told me a couple weeks ago it was out
The paddle boats they rent by the hour and it is 10 a hour and yes you can fish from the boat
I'm not sure but cottages #5 are the pet friendly ones.
Generally yes, but once in a while there may be a special guided hike or event where they are not suggested
There are some supplies, but they're mostly small, last minute things. You should come prepared to the best of your ability. Chatsworth is also a short, 10 minute drive, down the mountain. You can find many more supplies there.
Yes. The cool springs overlook and Gahuti trail head is near a car park. Overlook is just few hundred feet from the car park
2851 feet above sea level.
The water was great. You can do a search for the weather when you are planning to go.
Yes
Yes there are coin washing machines and dryers in the building with the restrooms. I'm using one now.
Several fish. Bass, crappie, bream
Yes. There's a creek. Seriously, as far as I know they have a small laundry facility. You may want to call and check to make sure it's up and running, but they are pretty awesome with the maintenance there!
I don't think they will mind if you take a ball and putter. I saw people on the course last weekend.
I'm sure they will do that for you. They are good about helping in situations like this.
They are able to on some things, try calling the office
They have paddle boats, I'm not sure about regarding boats
Depends which cottage you choose. Your best bet is to call the office. They were super helpful to us.
Swimming is good in most state parks the lake is well kept there but there's no lifeguard
Only on the grassy areas and trails. Dogs are not allowed on the beach at all.
11 PM is when the park closes, not sure about the beach. You can call the Georgia DNR State Parks or visit their website.
Yes in certain one's and they must be on a leash at all times in the park. They aren't allowed in the swimming area though😒
They have walk up tent sites and hike in tent sites
Oh not really sure some of the other saying it's already open I know I have carried field trips up there from the school and work for so just give it a try
They have water and electricity. Sewage is dumped at at different location.
You usually are not allowed to transport fire wood from state to state because of the emerald Beatles infestation.
