Horrible place with no consideration for what their patients or families go through. Clear miscommunication between staff members. Waiting rooms are lawless and restrooms are filthy. Seems the staff had more attention towards their lunch break and gossiping about their disgruntled patients than helping those in need. Disgusted is all I can say. Ps. First review I’ve ever made.

Ok now it is my wife’s turn I went here coming up on 5 years now for treatment of pancreatic cancer. Radiation and major surgery. Well I am still here Everyone is nice. Systems to make appointments get test results and are top notch. Unfortunately now it is my wife’s turn to fight Best of the best. That is Vanderbilt If anything they have made the challenge even easier for the patient Very organized. Never rushed and a smile on every person with a name tag Valet parking free Cafeteria on site Prescriptions can be filled right here Free Wi-Fi Unisex bathrooms are available They can even help you with lodging Hang in there they will take care of you Best possible regards

Well my brother was just recently diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma skin cancer. He's only 31 years old but, that's not his only health issue. He in considered disabled and recieved insurance only because of that. He was immediately referred to see an oncologist who referred him to Vanderbilt to get a second opinion and although he kept saying he felt it was an unnecessary waste of time and money everyone around him (including myself and his dr) insisted he go. We had to be there at 10am and it's almost a 4 hour drive. We walked in on time and checked in. Afterwards we were escorted across the hall to a waiting room area where we were told his name would be called. When it was the nurse said that the dr he was scheduled to see wasn't aware that the melanoma was mainly within his head an neck area and she was going to send us somewhere else. We were both confused as to why this was happening by the time we made to the new dr's waiting room located on the 7th floor of the building connected to it. We were asking the receptionist at the new dr's waiting room and her replies were very sharp and rude. The nurse who escorted us to the room wanted to hear as little as possible and you could tell that she was just waiting for a pause so she could shut the door. After waiting for what seemed like forever someone did finally come and talk to my brother and asked if he'd brought any of his imaging records. After all, that's what I'd understood as the reason for us going in the first place for them to look at his tests and form their own opinion. My brother said that he'd been told that he didn't need to bring anything that they would send down his records. They said they didn't have them and I'd said it was possible that they were at the office we'd been scheduled to see in the first place. I'm not sure whether or not there was any attempt to see if they were at the other place or not but, I do know that it was poor communication between doctors offices causing the problem. With all the technology I'm sure that it's possible they could've called the doctor he goes to in town and had them sent over the internet somehow. It ought to be something that is fairly easy in their work. Although they were wanting to put a scope up his nose and he refused to allow it they told him that he wouldn't be able to get treated without them! It was made worse when the dr patronized us on the way out by saying all the nurses and doctors there really cared about him (when it was blatantly obvious they didn't) and he'd pray for us (which my brother doesn't believe and made it a point to tell him). I can see why there are three cases either civil/ criminal against them for malpractice of some sort!
