My husband is a CDL A truck driver transferring his license over from another state. He went in yesterday for the 3rd time trying to take the test for his hazmat endorsement. Which may I add he has held in two different states with two different licenses. Right when he walks through the doors they ask him if he’s taken the EDLT course which he hasn’t because he isn’t a beginner right out of school. They call the service desk and say well since you haven’t held a CT license you have to take it. One of the employees a male was very rude and just kept saying “Good day sir”. When he got back to the car and looked it up himself on the DOT page it stated itself that he didn’t need it. Of course he went back inside and made it known. They called the service desk again and he finally got to take the test which took all of 2 minutes after waiting an hour. He needed to have a picture taken because he now has a temporary license and a female employee told him “to smile like he just got away with something.” This whole situation has been ridiculous and if it wasn’t for CDL drivers like my husband the country wouldn’t run the way it does. So for the lack of respect and knowledge and even effort blows my mind.

This is the closest DMV to me. Ive been there multiple times in the past few years and every time I have to go at least three times because they never tell you what you need. You are either missing this or missing that or under this special circumstance this form is needed. The website is terrible too with barely any guidance and just pure word puke on the page, it's impossible to find all of the required information. The solution they propose? call and wait for 3 hours on hold to see if you can talk to someone. I'm tired of there terrible DMV locations. Something needs to change.

Can't do initial registration online. Sorry IT STINKS I KNOW, TRUST ME.
I believe if you explain this to them you'll be able to go in with him due to his situation...
Yes You Can register a car with a CT. I'D
Honestly I don't know, but my reg was expired and they had us drive it to get the emissions test done so I hope so lol
Yes
Yes if you want
I didnt see anything about it being closed those days, all it States is that it'll be closed July 4 & reopening on the 5th
The DMV is open until 5p.m. on Friday.
You can mail it. The best thing to do is bring it in and get a receipt.
If your public service is with the department of motor vehicles...they only process motor vehicle transactions
90 days
Yes, you can get a CT license if you provide proof of residency in CT like mail, some bill, or lease agreement with your Landlord. Wilimantic DMV is able to get you a CT license I'm sure.
I need a appointment for pay a ticket because my license is suspended
Debit card or Checks! Make sure you have an appt first!!!
Yes you do and that is not the time you get in...it is the time you need to be there for officer to get your name, etc and check you in. Then you wait in line till your turn in front of door!! Then you can take a seat inside and wait. Of course if you are handicapped you can go inside and wait.
If it's from your bank then that's a process controlled by bank access. To visit the CT DMV on any business you do need to make an appointment.
Not sure but good luck getting through anyway. Phone tree just kind of runs in circles.
They are not ticketing people until the issue is fixed. As long as you get it done after it's fixed you will be fine
You can request a duplicate on their website @ https://portal.ct.gov/DMV/DMV-Services/Request-duplicate-drivers-license
Permanent residents can...
Yes. Most DMV sites are by appointment only.
I know they are open this coming Saturday, January 9th, but I think by appointment only. One of the employees told me to keep checking for cancelations and especially day of because they do get them often.
There is gue to make a turn via the internet
Up to two weeks
No. You need to cancel the plates in their website. Print the cancellation paper and bring to the assessors office in your town.
Limited ability. For example dealers usually can. You should contact your local office to check on your specific case.
Yes, you do, you can get one easily in the website
Dont know or care
That's true. The appointments can be done different but when its not raining, everything flows a little smoother
. For a appointment
Bring everything...birth cert, social, proof of address, and your other ID. All ID's now are the new real ID. Very strict.
Yes
Might want to talk to your bank.
You'll have to do an out of state transfer. It costs 40 for the transfer, and 80 for the license.
They keep just the title and mail you a new updated one in my experience a few weeks ago.
The DMV would have sent you a confirmation Email with the appointment time.

You have to make an appointment online. The appointments are available based on the reason for your visit. You have to search for the 1st available appointment based on what service you need. I suggest checking multiple locations to get the soonest available appointment. I live in E. Hartford and the soonest available appointment for license renewal was Willimantic. That location is very easy in and out. https://portal.ct.gov/DMV/Offices/Offices/Make-an-Appointment
I just looked now and Norwalk DMV has over 20 appointments available for license renewal this week alone!
Only by appointment, you now have to schedule it online
Yes, but best to make an appointment ahead of time.
I'm sorry, I do not know the answer. You will need to call wethersfield dmv . I only used google maps for directions to dmv willimantic
Birth certificate OR passport, social security card OR W2 OR 1099, and two pieces of mail showing your name, resident address, and date that falls with 90 days. If your birth certificate shows a name that is not what is on your current license, you will have to provide a marriage certificate or other name change document. If the name has changed multiple times then you will have to provide name change documents for each name change. All documents must be original and unexpired. ss card should not be laminated. If ss is laminated or you provide a W2 or 1099 you will need a secondary ID such as an unexpected license, marriage certificate, baptismal certificate, school transcript, etc.
Yes at 9:15am until 5:30
Go on the town's website where the plates are registered and click on view my taxes and see if you have any taxes due
No
Depends on how expired. More than 2 years is considered a new I'd so $28
As long as the registration is canceled you are not required to return the plates. However if you do want to dispose of them the dmv has a bin in which the put old plates inside of.
You need your social security card, 2 papers received from your mailbox within 90 days, your passport or certificate of birth and 26$
Yup
There is no public fax number. What are you trying to fax?
No you have to go in
Yes
No, it is through appointment only unless you're looking for motorcycle or cdl testing
Yes you can, you need to apply for a learner's permit first. NPR wrote that it's possible you might get flagged tho.
You can renew up to 6 months before your expiration date
Go to the local DMV with your Dad. He will likely need a new photograph for the ID. You can print the application from the dmv website and bring it in to save time. The website will also tell you everything you need to have with you to save you from making an additional trip. If you cannot print the form, they will have the form you need available at the dmv. Simply go in and request an ID rather than a license.
No open until 1230
No
Yes
No public fax
You have to a resident of the state
21 for 10 days if passenger car 27 for small trucks
That's funny I came from Mass and they allowed me to do that I would suggest bringing some good proof of address and you have to bring your birth certificate to switch your license over but the templates allow you to get sometime on the road to get your emissions testing done there's a place up the street called foxy Lube that doesn't missions testing I would advise against using them they were terrible to deal with
Yes under forms you can print one.
I believe so
Call them. You must have gotten something a ticket number or some kind of slip i am sure. Any how.. You usually get it within a week. Thats strange....
Text permit??
Title. Driving license both. Insurance. Go to dmv fill the form pay the fees and you are good to Go.
Yes you can and it might be quicker
Wait time depends on What facility you are going to. For duplicate i guess it is 30 or 50 bucks
Don't know then don't reply for points please :p And yes bro they do take all kind of knowledge and road test here. It is a full service facility. I got my driving license and M endorsement both from here. Good luck!
I believe so, but best way to know is to call DMV to confirm
Yes You need it
Start over
I do not speak Spanish
Yes, they start to give tickets about 7:45
Yes, you do & then take the paperwork to the tax office so you wont continue getting charged taxes on it. Or if you want to get a new car I believe you can transfer it.
Online
Yeah
Paper.. original
Nope
