Hi Susan Marble! To make an on line appointment is to search ny schedule road test. Scroll down to "schedule your road test" then click it. Once you click the "schedule your Road test" it will prompt you to fill out your personal information. After you finished filing out your information, you should be good to go. You can make an appt to guarantee a time and date, OR you can walk in and wait. As of August 2, 2021 they were supposed to be allowing walk in appts.

Most likely no, the DMV doesn't place ads anywhere - so it's probably "click-bait". Click-bait looks interesting or official, but it is usually on the side of a website or at the end of an article and is there to get you to click on it. You will then be led down a rabbit hole of ads and additional clicks. If it has "start slideshow" as a button to click, it's definitely click bait. It will fill your browser with spyware and sometimes lead you to even more dangerous sites where people are "phishing" for your private info.

Make sure you tape an envelope with your dollar in it to one of the plates so you don't get billed for a dollar 😕

Take them to any DMV and tell them you are turning them in, it costs a dollar. If there's any time left on the registration, you'll get a refund in the mail.

over the phone, you may call them several times before somebody answer you. In your case if I was you, I would go there to get an appointment for possibly the same day.

Not that I now of they are doing plate transfers and new registration in there county

They are taking calls I think it's Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings until Noon. But you darn well better call plenty before noon because the one we got was in quite a hurry to get off the phone and just kept telling me what we were looking for was "Online under forms, online under forms" rather than listening to our situation and exactly what we actually needed. We never found the specific form we were looking for and I'm not sure if it exists. So I'd try calling early to mid morning to make arrangements for them to hand them out to you or mail them to you or whatever
