My daughter had to have an urgent surgery. Chose this hospital because they have separate waiting area for kids. Staff was friendly. Had to wait only 1 hour before we were called in. Surgery room was brand new, recovery area newly remodeled. Attentive nurses!

I wish I can give no stars. This use to be the best place to bring my children. But after the experience I had this morning that changed. If a patient walks in with a parent your concern should be about the patient and not if the parent is wearing there uniform or ID. And if they should take it off. Imagine getting dressed for work and child says mom im having chest pains and you rush out your house not thinking about yourself but your child and then you drive from Shirley to New Hyde Park. As an employee of Northwell I am so disappointed in the way I was approached. When the focus should have been on my child.

Some of the nurses take their job serious while others just want to sit and chat all day. I feel very judged as a black person who goes there to visit my baby in the NICU and I see the difference in attitude towards other races.

Yes, i believe if you go to their website there is a section for donations. 😊
The hospital will take new coloring books and put them in the play room for the admitted sick children. Call the admin staff at Northwell Health.

Yes they have a gift shop in the lobby.
They're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
They accept all insurance. May for other reason. Before going just give them a call and explain and ask.
You'd have to contact Hospital directly.
Where does he live?
Yes but it needs to be coordinated on the unit depending on the visitor policy. Ask your nurse manager and/or social worker.
Depending on the dept you need but if for a child appointments are always available

If you ask for someone in Spanish, they give it to someone.
