I've been volunteering at Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue for almost a year now. I love working for the herd (people and 4-leggeds, alike) and what I get in return is more than I can say, and also not quantifiable. It's hard work but even more rewarding!!!

I’m sure the horses are very well taken care of but when you offer to help in any way you get mixed signals. Last year I was told I could bring home a couple horses to foster for the summer because my daughter was getting ready to go off to college for Animal Science/Equine Studies. I didn’t do it that summer because a friend let us take her horses instead. Last week we stopped by(my daughter has graduated and now works as a vet tech at an equine hospital) and the girl we had to speak to was in a meeting. A few days went by, never got a call back, i texted her, nothing, I texted her again, nothing, I texted her a third time, (this was over the course of 4 days) she finally shot me a text saying they don’t have anything for adoption. I told her I wasn’t looking for adoption that I wanted to bring a couple home for the summer like she had told me I could do before. Now all of a sudden that can’t be done. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Oh well

Great place I have a non profit farm and they allowed me to come in and dig some out great stuff filled with worms, the place is very clean and organized the animals have a lots of space to roam..

The horses there are very well taken care of. I’ve had two lessons, and the trainer is very sweet. I’ve rode Shadow and Cody, and their very sweet. It was fun to ride and I 10/10 recommend riding here, and the payments help the horses a lot! I would love to volunteer but I don’t have the time.
