By far the worst hospital I think I've ever had to endure. I have never met a single staff member that truly cared for their patients. Not to mention the way they treated me. As if I was a third class citizen. On one particular visit, I had waited in the emergency room for 13 hours due to chest pains and wasn't even given an EKG, and my blood pressure had only been checked once. I would never recommend this hospital, especially not if your experiencinh life threatening compilation. I would rate this hospital no stars if it was an option

I have my baby in this hospital. All the staff had been beyond amazing to my family and I. I am so grateful and thank you so much for everything.

I am horrified to see a video that was doing the round on the internet. There is a horrific practice called patient dumping, where utterly helpless patients are discarded onto the streets overnight for their inability to pay. This hospital was implicated in such a practice. Make no mistake, this institution is on paper a not-for-profit institution and pays 0 percent tax. But in reality, it belongs to a group of thousands of institutions across the country that is run by an increasingly feckless oligarchic elite. Mohan Suntha (the President and CEO in 2020) was paid a cool $2,102,885. If you are conscious and in your right mind, exercise your democratic rights and push back at these corrupt, immoral institutions.

This Place Is Terrible I Have Been Waiting In The Waiting Room since 2:13pm It is now 7:44pm With The Same Exact Ppl…I still haven’t been seen at all. They have all these low budget nurse that can’t do a thing but ask to see a wristband. Or check your blood pressure It’s sad. Ppl come to the Emergency room for Emergency. It’s should never take anyone 6 hours to be seen. I keep asking why is it taking so long They always say because no beds are available. Well UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CLEARLY THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR YOUR GUYS…So Try adding more beds to your facility. It’s way to many workers in here. For this process to be this slow. Somebody will lose their life waiting in this waiting room. They act like they don’t care at all. They come in here for one thing and clearly it’s a paycheck. I Am DISGUSTED WITH THIS PLACE. It shouldn’t even exist!!!!

In my opinion, this is a good hospital, but I respect your opinion :)
Call hospital security.
I can't answer that bc I don't know for sure, but I can't see why not. Have you discussed it with the OB? If your body is overwhelmed, that sounds like a medical reason that needs to be addressed by that doc! Best of luck to you!
I would contact your insurance company, if you have insurance. If not, maybe contact your local volunteer fire department...or where the closest one to where you were taken from.
Not that I know of
It should go both way
When I was in the hospital I had no problems with my visitor or them staying overnight. They were very professional an kind. I give hospital a thumbs 👍 up.
Call the hospital and ask if the doctor is still there , and how can you make an appointment to see or speak to him.
Send a letter or note to Patient Services, or office of the Chief Executive
Please dont complain the doctors and nurses work very hard so please be patient with them
There are several parking garages around the hospital. The closest has entrances on Greene and Pratt street. Be sure to get your parking validated to reduce the price from $20 to $8/day - ask for it at the reception desk in the unit you're visiting.
Normally 11am to 8:30 PM. It will vary for the ICU's, Shock Trauma and Cardiac Care.
Hello there, Yes it is, very close... About 3 blocks from, university ctr. & baltimore st. Light Station...
Parking is horrendous. Nothing is marked CASH ONLY to valet. Outrageous parking fees. Valet staff is rude.
I’m looking for my medical record 2016
I'm not completely sure what you're saying, but they do have orthopedic doctors.
No
Probably not . Because if you get frustrated with staff and curse Because your in pain they call security on you.
Supplies of all kinds end up in short supply basically for two reasons they are not prioritized correctly or the party responsible for maintaining crucial levels fail to do their job. More often that not these are the reasons supplies fall below acceptable levels.
Check with the nursing staff. If not n ur room maybe she can camp out n the waiting rm
Not sure but they have a urgent care facility close by where he might get seen sooner
Hi, I am not sure. I haven't been to UMMC in over 3 years, thankfully.
I'm guessing you're referring to prescriptions, therefore, contact your primary care provider for further information.
Sorry for the pain. Sad to know you went through all of this 😔
Hello I work at ummc and she will be in good hands. I had my child there as well. One of thee best hospitals on the east coast
I believe that they would if you asked but they have valet parking so that might be an option
It should be no more than $9.00
If you don't have health insurance, you will be billed for all medical services, which may include doctor fees, hospital and medical costs, and specialists' payments. Without an insurer to absorb some or even most of those costs, the bills can increase exponentially. You can still have surgery without insurance, but it will be very costly.
Security was only following up with the complaint , if they were unprofessional & wasn't understanding contact the hospital administration
Yes ! Call them they will tell you how much they charge for xrays as well, get them to put it on an flash drive that way you will always have it
I suggest just leaving a review on Google, but you can call them https://www.google.com/search?q=University+of+Maryland+Medical+Center&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari&safe=active# (This is the link for phone number)

Yes ! They may have an visitors list call & check with the family first to see
Call the main number for the hospital and ask for the appropriate fax number.
If you go to any emergency room that's pretty much the wait time unless you're critical

Hello! You can contact the hospital at 1+(800)-492-5538 for more information. Thanks, have a great day!
All
Hi! I believe it is on the website. Thanks, have a great day!
That's a question for your OB and not something the general public should be answering.
It depends on which unit you would like to visit, but it is usually like 11:30 to 8:00
That would be something to ask the hospital. This is just Google answers
There is a garage in front of the hospital on pleasant street
Hi! You can eat at the hospital cafe' or order room service (in some cases). Outside (and near) the hospital is Panera Bread, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, and McDonald's. Thanks, have a great day!
Hi! I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "How much for crown", but if you mean a crown for a tooth, I don't think they have a procedure for that. Your dentist will probably have you come to his/her office for the procedure. Thanks, have a great day!
When ever they feel like it, in the freezing cold with only a gown on, is a good time to them!
For most Tests you can go through the Front Main Entrance & ask the Desk Attendants. If its an "Ortho/Broken Bone" Test, then you need to go in the BACK ENTRANCE door of The Shock Trauma Building. Hope this helps :)
I'm sorry to hear you have been having trouble getting a diagnosis. It definitely is not normal for your whole body to swell up profusely. I advise you to talk to your primary care provider as soon as possible, and they should direct you what to do next. Hope this helps and get well soon.
Not mine pumpkin!!!
