The water here is very calm.

Solid spot for a trek / trail. Not a lot of elevation so readonably enjoyable for most. No "loop" that i know of so you return through the same path but good marked trails and space

My favorite spot for water activities! Flat water surrounded by nature.

If you like mountain biking, this park is a must visit. It has the best single track MTB trails in NOVA, in my opinion. The blue loop has a bit of everything from fast downhills and jumps to more technical roots/rocks sections. If you’re feeling adventurous you can take on the black, which will about double your mileage and offer even more technical obstacles. Either way, I highly recommend getting out there and hitting the trails at this free to the public regional park.

It is a very aggressive trail for nova standards. Not for beginners or even intermediate.
It was due to trail and forest damage. The 1 mile marker is at 1.6994mi (wheeled), and the 2mi marker is exactly a mile between the first mile marker.
Hi Fernando. You can view our boat rental prices and hours of operation at: https://www.novaparks.com/parks/fountainhead-regional-park/things-to-do/boat-rental Thank you.
Yes, I have seen plenty of people paddle boarding
Yes but the trails close for bad weather. They have a Twitter page to follow that gives trail info.

One person can rent a boat, yes. Fountainhead rents kayaks as well as flat-bottom "john boats". Fishing is also permitted. VA fishing license / regulations apply.
Probably
Good morning Bryen--the boat rentals at Fountainhead Regional Park are closed for the season.
The reservoir is regularly stocked and is home to largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, perch, bluegill. Fisherman can make use of the park’s bait shop, with a wide wide selection of bait and tackle, snack bar, fishing scale, bragging board, a 250-foot fishing pier and a 100-foot floating dock. All fishing in Virginia requires a license.
Yes. Check their website for reservations, rules and if a permit is necessary
All NOVA Parks facilities and buildings will be closed beginning at the close of business on March 16 and remaining closed for at least two weeks. We are closely monitoring the situation and will re-open and the earliest possible time.
Lakes are fed by streams...they could also be 'stocked' with fish to build up the natural population. Not sure what they do here or when.
Hi Rpbert. The fees for the boat ramp at Foutainhead are $5 for jurisdiction and $6 for out of jurisdiction. Thanks!
Hi Jake, Yes, there is a nominal launch fee for kayaks. All our fees and hours of operation can be found at: https://www.novaparks.com/parks/fountainhead-regional-park/things-to-do/boat-launch
No
Their facebook page tells you if bike trails are open.
I believe that the pavilions are first come first serve unless they're reserved for a particular event. There are also a few picnic tables near the parking lot that don't have any pavilion over them that are first come first served. If you call the park they should be able to tell you if a pavilion is reserved or available
$14 for the entire day without a motor. I don't know what it would cost for the motor.
Yep on a boat or off the dock. You can also rent a boat if you don't have one
