They really need to update the website more consistently regarding to their hours of operation. Some of the Jon boat needs repair since water consistently sipping in with the plug. Other than that, staffs are very helpful and friendly.

I havn,t been to Burke lake since August ,2003 but prior to that myself,family&mucho friends fished at Burke Lake over 50 times.WE were coming in from docking our rental boat 12ft. Aug.19th.1999 and 2 guys had a 21lb. channell catfish when they held the granddaddy cat up with a stringer it was huge. It made me sad he lived that long prabably had 2or3 hundred youngun,s Anyway after about 1000 pictures snapped and the official weigh in 21.9 lbs with at least 150 people there the guy and his buddy let him go right where the boats we are. Turns out he was the biggest channel cats recorded @ Burke Lake. I wouldn,t be supprised if that record is still holding ? August 19th. is approaching now iv,e got a new fishing partner and my favorie rookie and Grandson , he wants to hear some of my tales, a lot were here at BurkeLake Jtc sr.

It was fun renting a motorboat and trying to catch some fish. We bought and brought the mino trap from wallmart and my neice had fun trapping some little fish. I didn't catch any, but that was my first attempt at fishing..lots of good fishing spots and fish. I saw some other folks who knew what they were doing catching fish. The boat rental place also sells live bait, I should have bought some. Beautiful lake will definitely be back.
