This was one of the greatest medical experiences I’ve ever had with my dad. He’s been a veteran for 32 years and has not used this VA system. We went today to establish care. Everyone went above and beyond. The whole place runs like a well-oiled machine from beginning to end. Keep up the good work!!

Went to the ER at midnight, they promptly saw me and there was practically zero wait time. Wonderful staff. They found the blood clot in my lung and got me the help I needed right away. I will be here for a few days recovering and everyone is very kind and caring. Thanks for everything VA. Much needed service

This hospital and region is a mind virus I can’t deal with. Arbitrary and clueless. That’s not a combo that inspires confidence. Glaring differences between my last functioning, competent, caring and efficient region and whatever bad bulging bureaucracy has ruined this one. If you are moving to this region, know that it is not good. Wave off! Wave off! Something is way wrong. Read recent reviews. My experiences have been ENTIRELY bizarre and FRUSTRATING. Maybe somebody dosed the hand sanitizer. It is…a very strange place. I feel confused when interacting with it, and so thrilled to have made it back to my truck at the end. I’ve figured that, I don’t get it, because there is nothing to get. I think they are on a massive boondoggle, and absolutely full of it. Ask around. Avoid

They took great care of my dad.

Yes, If the vet is 100% disabled
They have a nursing home section in the Lake City VA hospital you could probably live there. I visit with some of the men when I'm at appointments. The weather is beautiful a lot of them are sitting outside
Used to be until Shands hospital got the property and tore it down. Now the new cardiac care center is there. All the motels are on the other side of the road the hospital is on. There was a hospital by the name of Rush Lake off of 16th, across from steak and shake
Don't know 😕
I think it's crazy too! Regardless of his veteran status the Dr's and nursing staff had the obligation to provide emergency stabilizing treatment by law. They not only failed another veteran and cost him his life, but they also broke the law. Everyone involved in his none-care should be fired, and charged. We deserve better! My personal experiences there have always been pretty good.
At the moment yes....they allow company in rooms
Yes, there's plenty of regular and disabled parking. There's also valet parking.
I am having the same problem. I have called them at least 9 times over the past couple of weeks to reschedule an appointment that is supposed to take place next week. It is an appointment with a specialty clinic. Every time I call, I wait for 5-15 minutes to talk to an operator. When I finally get in touch with the operator, I ask to be transferred to the appropriate department. They transfer me, but once I'm transferred to the specialty clinic, there is an automated message and then the call gets ended automatically. Very annoying.
It va it's a hurry up and wait once you get in they are pretty good
Well, I don't know what is considered large. This facility is a fully integrated hospital with a wide range of services, ie emergency room, pharmacy, all range of medical disciplines including major surgical procedures such as heart procedures. This VA hospital is located right next to the University of Florida medical hospital accessing all the latest in technology & research and procedures.
Clinton has the right answer.
Yes you can even call them to find out.
You will have to call Malcolm Randall VA directly for information.
I don't know. You would ask a medical professional
Not sure you would have to call
The restrictions are lifted...so far..you need mask to get in and around but on your room you wont..there is a nice fold couch and also a recliner seat..in the rooms!
Veterans can spouses only if vet or have champ va due to spouse being 100% service connected.
This hospital is a veteran's hospital. If you need an allergist and you are a veteran they maybe able to help you. Please call Malcom Randall for more information
I'm not sure if they are the same as regular visitation hours but I know that only one person can visit at a time.
Yes!

I have never used the garage. There is a disabled parking lot that is covered where you can park (if you have a disabled parking permit). There is also an small uncovered parking area between the disabled area and the garage. A closer parking area called the "honor lot" is closer to the entrance. Just drive around the parking areas until you find a spot. Plan on 15 to 30 minutes to find a parking spot.
Call 352-376-1611 ask for Registration. Call between the hours of 8am and 4pm.
You should have a card from the va for the non va hospital. Not sure if they cover it all or if u have a copay.
Homeless veterans have some varied options in Gainesville FL. There is a VA only shelter at Grace Market Place that is clean and secure. It has a limited number of beds but it was available when I needed it after my apartment got condemned due to water damage. There are also other options that depending on your age might be better. The link below has a lot of information but should be useful to you. Personally I'd say Ocala has the best Veterans Homeless care for long term support based on how they treated my Uncle as he got older. But here's that link and good luck. https://www.northflorida.va.gov/NORTHFLORIDA/services/homeless/index.asp
They can do everything you need if they can't they will send you to a specialist
Sorry, haven't had that problem. Best of luck.
No I'm sorry I do not but maybe you should call the hospital and they may have that.
My results are in the same day
If you are in the VA system you can walk in and be seen.
Try Patient Advocacy. They can direct you from there.

I'm just security here. U should call and talk to a medical professional
I would imagine that you can.

Yes, They take all emergency's. They told me they would never turn away a Vet in need.
Yes
Not housekeeping jobs. There are Health-aide positions open often.
Good question, I know Gainesville offer those services
Tallahassee V.A.clinic, Tallahassee Fl
Yes, some veterans can depending on their VA or military status. It's either the MOH, POW, or 100% VA disability that may qualify a veteran for dental care, but I would contact your VA rep to verify the criteria.
Treatment for ptsd
I believe it is to get you a primary care doctor also see the patient advocate she squares away lazy clerks
The best way is just come and fill the form out and place it in the box next to it.
I believe most surgeries are conducted by Shands Hospital doctors... hence the Shands to VA tunnel. Just saying...
My husband never had an issue when he has stayed. They seem helpful and respond when you call the nurse right away.
They have both. Depends on the area
Yes, most definitely! See your primary care physician.
If you are not able to move call 911 and tell the first responders that you want to be taken to Malcolm Randall VA Hospital. If you can move despite the pain then go to the ER. At different times the wait can be fairly long. I don't know the best time to go. Once,I was seen immediately, other time up to 4-6 hours. Depends on your severity and how serious those ahead of you are.
The VA Gainesville will contact the Vets via by recording or a specific clinic to call if the appointment needs to be cancelled and rescheduled
