Beautiful place for the family clean, big, plenty of space for kids to run around, beautiful lake and beach. The only sad part no tents π«

First, the positives! Each camp site is equipped with running water and electrical hook upββββ. Over all the setting was wooded and beautiful! The lake access was well kept and clean and the lake was a joy to swim in! Now the Negatives.. Upon arrival make sure you have an extra hour or two for the check in process. Its fully understood that when I go into primitive mode that things and actions take a much slower pace, But it felt like an eternity just to get out of the office. Did not seam like there was an efficient digital check in process, but a paper trail that got lost into the mix of the office. Very frustrating, I almost felt like it may have been a practical joke. But nope! My camp site was overgrown and unkempt. When I had no power, it took someone 2 hours to address it and he seemed like he hated every moment of his job! Some camp sites are far too close together and not enough screening between you and other campers. I love to get away from people, not so much surrounded by more. The seasonals seam to have a community developed within the campground. But I found many a little unfriendly and slightly entitled and condescending. Be prepared to have the seasonals constantly buzz by your site in their golf carts just to stare in to see who you are and what you got? Sometimes feeling like your on display. Very awkward not peaceful. Around the lake is PACKED with RVs with generators and outdoor TVs going all day. What happened to the peace of nature and the sounds of summer? The bathroom facilities were dirty, unmaintained and personally used only in extreme circumstances. Some of the sites further away from the lake are a little larger and afford more privacy, but it's a 10-15 min walk to the water. Over all I was not impressed by this campground. They nickle and dime you for everything. Wouldn't mind coming back in the future if some improvements were made!

My husband & I were very interested and impressed by Bowdish Lake Campground's website. It said all the right things. We did exactly what the website suggests, and urges you to do. To call them, to walk around the campground to see how it works for you. The woman on the phone was not only borderline rude, but quite negative about me inquiring at all!

I dont beleive its open in winter. Yes lots for sale though. But check with office they are strict here with certain things
You can definitely enter through George Washington State Park. There may be a small fee couple of bucks. All of the trails run off the Fire Road at GW.
No, the camping season ends after Columbus Day weekend
There is no age limit for RV's. There are a lot of hidden charges though. You must ask for these hidden charges, there is a Basic Fees charges but you only get this upon check in. Some of these hidden charges are not listed on their Basic Fees hand out sheet. one of the biggest is Septic. they charge you a whopping $400.00 more for that! There is not mention of a lot of the basic fees on their website. All I can say is good luck!
