You have plenty of options to choose from, from either the private housing market or public housing. Aside from private properties for rent/sale, there are also public housing options through the New Brunswick Housing and Redevelopment Authority/HUD. Best of hopes!
It depends on where you're relocating from. If you're already a US resident, beyond securing a steady source of income and a place to live, there should be nothing else "required", per se (though I highly recommend securing a reliable means of transportation as well since NJ's public transit system isn't as plentiful/wide-reaching as in other states, though it can also depend on which town/city you choose to live in). If you're trying to transfer existing services/assistance from another state, you'll need to contact each of the offices that handles the service(s)/assistance you receive to find out their individual requirements. You can contact 211 for local services information while in NJ or go online to look up information by town/city or by county. Best of hopes for you!
