Go to your doctor and have them complete the form Reg 195. The form must be completed and signed by the patient and the doctor. The sections will say who needs to sign. Any missing sections or errors WILL VOID THE FORM so make sure to see if it's completed in full and correctly. All you have to do is read the instructions on each section to double check the doctors work. The doctor is to determine the length of the placard before expiration and the reason to why your getting one. After the paperwork Is done, see someone at the DMV or mail in the app and your good to go. Things needed with the app is a valid ID of the patient and $6.

They are not taking appointment s but if you go to DMV.ca.gov. And search express fill out forms it will give you a confirmation number you can go in that same day that's how I had to do for my license to change states.

Depends on what you're going there for. I needed a new registration sticker, mine that was stolen. They sent me away, have to order online. I posted a pic of the list of the things they are doing in person. If your need is not on the list, they'll turn you away. No licenses renewals are being done either. Only doing Real ID in person. Be sure to bring ALL your necessary docs for that.

You can go to any office to pick up your tags, as long as the requirements are met. Valid insurance on vehicle, completed smog (if required that year), no vehicle suspension's, and all fees are paid. You can pay the fees at the DMV if haven't already in the form of debit, cash, or check.

Yes you can walk in, I don't think they are taking appointments. I was there for Title issues just the other day arrived 35 minutes before they opened, had to wait 3 hours. Bring more documents then you think you need (Social Security card, Birth Certificate, and 2 pieces of mail for proof of residence) double check the DMV website.

For your permit you can stand in the stand by line. Get there by 630am to get a good spot, and be sure fill out your online application before you go in. Also, review it if you filled it out before February as they changed the system then. If your application is current, you can go to the website to apply for a link to make an appointment for behind the wheel tests.

If you want to walk inbthen you need to go early @5:00 am so you won't have to wait in line far aways. They won't open until 8 but at least you are the first couple one.

I don't think there is a best time if you just walk in without an appointment. If you're able to apply online or get an appointment then that's your best option. I wasn't able to do either so I had to walk in and joint the line. The process for me was smooth but I had to wait a very long time in the line. Try to get there early that way hopefully the line won't be as long. Good luck

If you have your birth certificate and two proof of residency PLUS your social security card, you can apply for a REAL ID online. Once you upload the documents you'll get a confirmation number with a STOP SIGN showing. That's the only way you're going to get into the DMV currently.

So when I showed up to the DMV they sent most people away and told them to enroll online for the real ID and then when they uploaded all the documents and got to the page that said STOP and a code underneath it, then they can come back and get an appointment. The code you get is your appointment so hold onto that when you do get it.

You could just walk in, get in line and tell that person why you are there. He/she gives you the proper form to fill out and may tell you to bring it back after it is filled out. A couple months ago, non apt, 3-4hrs waiting for a number. Then about 20 mins waiting for number to be called. FYI, the "Real ID" is the normal federal recognized license. The "regular license" is the AB60 license that was created for illegal immigrants. If you ever need to use your license out of state, you will need the "Real ID" license.
