Amazing gem on the coast. You go from beach coastal vibe to dense redwood forest. Home to so many banana slugs - highly recommend!

Happy that it's open. Even the one open hiking trail has scars from the fire, but it was great to be out there. Very few people were there, and that is good.

Great place to hide from the heatwave - it stays cool even when rest of the coast is red hot. Some trails are closed after the fire; entrance fee is $10. Parking is limited.

Badly burned. Most trails closed as of aug 2022. Campground closed,no water.

Due to the fire damage from the CZU fire, the campgrounds are closed for the next couple of years atleast. When they finally open up, if they run it like before there should be walk in sites and reservation sites.
According to locals it's: Bute-Uh-no, and not Bew-TAN-no.
This is a great reference for hiking trails within the park https://www.alltrails.com/parks/us/california/butano-state-park
There is lodging around there. We stayed at Castanoa. A bit expensive but not much around there
I saw upwards of a dozen campsites. Unsure if they handle 18' trailers. I did see one trailer - cant say if it was 18' :( Awesome park for sure.
Yes, but they are only allowed on paved roads, fire roads and tied up in campsites. Leashes are required.
Day hikes 3 to 5 + miles. Up & down hill, and a walk around the top of the canyon. I think you can walk a longer distance and cnnect to other parks in the area.
None! You don't need any. Just download offline maps
Yes I was just there I don't know who the juhi fella is but he's the one who said that the campground in half Moon Bay didn't have firerings not sure if he goes to these places at all
