Better to sleep in your car, do NOT waste your money. If you are as unfortunate as we were to not make it to your final destination...do yourself a favor and sleep anywhere but here. The options are minimal in Susanville, and they use it to their advantage. I will contact corporate and send along the photos I took. The condition of their floor is abhorrent. Their dresser drawers have mysterious, shredded napkins with bugs/ants that went scurrying as soon as you open it. This is on top of the already unfavorable characters hanging around the parking lot. Best Western used to have standards, not anymore. When I called the front desk I absolutely asked for a refund. All I was offered was the option to change rooms...late at night, with my small children already asleep in the bed. Looking forward to vacating as quickly as possible in the morning, such a disappointment. Not sure how anyone could give this place a positive review. In fact if you look through the reviews, you'll find that others mentioned bugs before also. Save your money and your peace of mind, stay somewhere else.

Susanville is a good midpoint between Lake Tahoe and Crater Lake NP. We chose to stay here by reading reviews. This place is alright to crash for the night after long hours of driving. As soon as we entered there’s some kind of funky smell which kinda sucks. The room offers a TV, Bed and a Dining table kind of desk with a chair that doesn’t look the best. The bathroom luckily was neat but we did spot some ants by the bathroom door. The coffee maker was super old. The room looks very different than what it has been pictured. Parking spots are plenty. The location is just great as it’s close to Walmart, Starbucks, Taco Bell, McDonalds & gas stations. So food/drinks shouldn’t be a problem.

What do their expensive rates fund? The internet is God-awful, the pool is closed for weeks at a time in the summer, the front desk attendent just leaves for 15 minutes to run errands, the water pressure cuts in and out, I have had 2 bathtubs that are clogged, you have to insert your card key multiple times to get into your room, and their tacky sink designs trickle out water. Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful, the beds are comfortable, and the heating & AC work well. *Edit. The internet isn't working. Again.

Light switch did not work. Upon inspection, the light bulb was missing. Faucet not attached - can be pulled up from the sink. Sticky light switch next to the bathroom. Beds were OK though! New low for Best Western.
