Am amazing array of steam engines and miscellaneous other train cars that have been lovingly restored. The exhibits educate you on the history and progression of railroads and the trains

Great museum! Love coming here each time that I'm in the area. Was free, this time. Recommend.

I couldn't say.
Yea I think it does all though its been too long since i rode the train. But I was just there and they do have commercial trains through steamtown like industrial and passenger. Also if they don't have an interchange there is one close by im sure but I would double check that in Google maps.
Everything is open just reduced capacity. We just took trolley ride oct 17. Train museums was open,
Steamtown National Historic Site is a part of the National Park Street Service. Even though there aren't any trains running at this time of the year you can always come back in April for National Park Week which kicks off our train ride season. Throughout the year we do excursions to Moscow, Tobyhanna, Gouldsboro, Cresco, Delaware Water Gap, and East Stroudsburg.
You and purchase a tickets to a short train ride. Check the website for the schedule
There is a stationary train cab you can enter, and several cars you can enter, not sure about moving engines.
Yes, there are plans to restore it, but it’s not really known when it will begin.
There is an actual big boy on display. Check out the gift shop, and also the model train display on the 2nd floor.
Optimistic guess is late 2022 or early 2023
I don't know PRR specifically but it is the equivalent of $43,000 in 2019
Lots of the things changed since the pandemic
We were there a week ago. Trains are not running because of Covid. No charge but not much to see at this time!
No train rides as of 3 days ago. The trolley museum on the property does do rides from Thursday to Sunday.
Not completely. A small part of the visitor center, part of the roundhouse, the cutaway engine display, and we wondered the yard (but weather - muddy).
Free
I don't know if they do, but I'm sure if you are in the area someone would guide you to one.
Yes, you can purchase any Park's site. $80.00

Call the museum or check online. They are very helpful.
Depends if you want to go on a train ride ( weekend only)
We spent ALL day there..but that being said we were with a group of Cub Scouts, some a little slower than others. It's a free National Park with the exception of the train ride. You could spend a little as a few hours if you hustle through. It is a great place to see!
Tucked away behind the backshops, slowly being restored.
Yes, you can ride a diesel electric and steam powered locomotive each pulling passenger cars. You can also ride in the engines as well for a premium price. I'd get onto the Steamtown U.S.A. websites and look there for specifics.
No. Besides, why would you want to bring a weapon into a Railroad Museum?
Access is free, train ride is 5.00. Trolley rides are 8.00 .
Think they close and lock the gates to the parking lot at 4.30
If they like trains, they would enjoy going through them and maybe take the short ride.
Yes, they have a diesel engine which goes down a track and back for a nice ride
I don't know the exact year but they are fairly modem
Yes, there is ample parking for busses!
i believe I saw they did in the gift shop
Bathrooms are accessible, not sure about the family rooms
Those are 2 different locomotives. One of them is a Baldwin 0-6-0 No. 26. The other is a Lowville & Beaver River Railroad Shay No. 8.
