This is an interesting place to visit. The museum staff made us feel welcome and shared some fun facts about glider history. We were fascinated by the size of the gliders displayed in the museum and were able to watch as many gliders sailed off and landed on the nearby runway. A short walk away is an overlook with benches to view sunsets. The NSM is close to shopping with easy access to parking. We highly recommend a visit.

Excellent and interesting place to visit. The museum was interesting and they have pilots available if interested in taking a ride on a glider.
Moving on with Old Man River Old man river
There's a great display of vintage gliders. The video was interesting about the history of gliders. You can tour the restoration room with vintage gliders they are working on. Neat wood full size model of a motorcycle. They have a WW2 United States military glider. I am only sorry I didn't have time this trip for a glider ride cost for ride 140.00 or 200.00. Museum cost 8.00 seniors 9.00 otherwise for adults.

The Harris Hill Soaring Corporation offers sailplane rides starting at $140 this season. HHSC is located just a few yards from the National Soaring Museum. During the summer, sailplane rides are given every day that the weather is suitable. They do not take reservations. Feel free to call the museum to see if they are flying: 607-734-3128.
We were there with a truck clubs to take pictures in front of the hanger. It was extremely foggy. No one was out gliding. You would have to call to get details.
You may go on a self-guided tour, but you need to book in advance for a guided tour. Both are great but you see more with a guided tour.
